Machinist

As a Machine Shop Technician, you will be part of the Technical Services support team and will provide support for the site and operations. Must be able to prioritize workflow. Demonstrates technical mastery at the highest level. Responsible for Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Cost associated with equipment. Technical understanding, technical zeal, deals with uncertainty, attention to detail and flexibility. As a Machine Shop Technician, some of your essential duties and responsibilities may include: • Providing ownership for the day-to-day operations of the equipment they are operating in the machine shop. • Assisting shop leader for site wide support for emergency machining needs during downtimes or outages. • Assisting vendors or repair persons on equipment in the machine shop as directed by the machine shop lead tech. • Assisting of installation of new equipment in the machine shop at the direction of the shop lead. • Working with vendors for shop equipment, tooling, and materials. • Use of SAP for production orders and work orders, will be a part for the decision-making process as it pertains to emergency repair priority setting on their shift. • Assisting in cross training in the machine shop • Use of 80/20 tools, USA and TPM philosophy into their daily work with a focus on streamlining or improving on current processes to aid in making the shop successful. • Maintaining areas: neat and in an orderly fashion and hold others accountable to the standards. Please consider applying if you have: • Experience in machine tool programming, knowledge of CAD/CAM programs • Possess a strong mechanical background • The ability to identify materials used in fabrication of parts to ensure that the correct material is being used in the fabrication of machined parts • The ability to manufacture parts to a tolerance of +-.0005” using both manual and CNC equipment • The ability to communicate to leadership, co-workers and others for safety, quality, and process concerns • Working knowledge of hand tools used in a machine shop environment • Working knowledge of quality measurement tools used in a machine shop • Skills in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematic’s, blueprints, and technical manuals. • The analytical ability to apply concepts learned in training programs and on the job training • Self-motivation, requiring minimal supervision and willingness to work as a team player • The ability to work in the shop during various shifts in support of operations • Experience in operating a Mazak dual spindle lathe, to include programming and set up • Desire and ability to learn the safe operation of all machine shop equipment • Capability of owning the quality of components manufactured to the specifications of the prints • Possess the physical stamina to walk, stand, stoop or bend during a large percentage of their shift • Possess the dexterity to work with high precision pieces on a daily basis Preferred / Bonus Skills: • Technical Degree (2 years) Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a CNC Operator III (3rd Shift). The hourly rate for this position is $23.88 plus 5% shift differential per hour.
