Position Overview The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire a Carpenter for the Elizabeth Packard Health Center located in Springfield, Illinois to receive day-to-day guidance from the Chief Stationary Engineer. Performs skilled carpentry work in the construction, maintenance, repair and/or alteration within the Elizabeth Packard Mental Health Center. Works in the carpenter shop. Performs cabinet work. Adheres to applicable Public Health, Public Aid, Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), and Accreditation Council for People with Developmental Disabilities (ACDD) standards. Travels in the performance of carpentry and cabinetwork. Essential Functions • Receives day-to-day guidance from the Chief Stationary Engineer at the Elizabeth Packard Mental Health Center. • Performs cabinet work. • Works in the carpenter shop. • Exercises appropriate safety precautions in the use and handling of tools and equipment, paying particular attention to these procedures when working on residential and programming/training areas. • Adheres to applicable Public Health, Public Aid, Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), and Accreditation Council for People with Developmental Disabilities (ACDD) standards. • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
