Overview: Join our dynamic team as the Vice President of Estimating Processes, where you will spearhead the estimating operations across the MasTec Renewables sector. Collaborate closely with the VP of Business Development to evaluate and enhance existing procedures, ensuring a consistent approach and unified vision across the organization. Your leadership will be pivotal in nurturing and developing estimating professionals while driving efficiencies and process improvements that will facilitate the growth of the Renewables sector. Location & Travel: This position offers flexibility in location, with a preference for candidates near our office locations in Indianapolis, IN, Fargo, ND, or Phoenix, AZ. Remote work is possible depending on your skills and experience. Expect to support various business operations throughout the United States, traveling 50% or more. Responsibilities: • Lead the overall estimating process for MasTec Renewables. • Standardize procedures for collaboration with support departments like Project Controls, Engineering, and Procurement. • Partner with the VP of Business Development to secure current and future revenue streams. • Work with Operational Vice Presidents to ensure consistency in processes and tools. • Establish methods to gather and analyze historical project data. • Assist in the recruitment, coaching, and development of estimating professionals. • Act as a senior mentor for estimating initiatives and succession planning. • Develop expertise in Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems. • Maintain relationships with contacts to support Business Development efforts. • Collaborate with Business Development professionals on leads. • Support the overall strategy aligned with MasTec Renewables' strategic plan. • Build and lead a team of diverse estimating professionals. • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform business strategy. • Manage the overall estimating process effectively. • Communicate estimating progress clearly across the organization. • Utilize industry resources and consumer information effectively. • Travel to service locations as needed. Qualifications: • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent experience. • 10-15 years of experience in large-scale construction or service-oriented fields. • Proven experience leading large-scale teams. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Commit to health and safety principles. • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. • Excellent proficiency in computer skills. • Able to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work independently and under pressure. • Strong leadership capabilities. • Maintain a positive attitude while collaborating with team members and clients. • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and reports. • Respond effectively to inquiries from customers and regulatory bodies. • Present information confidently to management and public entities. • Problem-solve practical issues and interpret various forms of instructions.
