Traveling Wind Turbine Technician II - 100% Travel - Northeastern US Region

This position is remote requiring 100% travel in the Northeastern US region, primarily in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Maine, and North Carolina. This is an hourly paid position. With travel, overtime and other supplemental earnings, resource technicians may have the ability to earn over $100,000 per year. Position Overview As a Resource Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting wind energy operations across multiple sites and projects. Whether assisting with service work or construction efforts, you’ll bring your skills and adaptability to where they’re needed most. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, repair, and maintain wind turbines with your team • Travel to different sites, work with diverse teams, and engage with varied experiences, including travel management and cost coding. • Conduct safety inspections and ensure a secure working environment. • Address advanced problem-solving tasks with effective self-management. • Work on construction and installation projects, overseeing the full life cycle of turbines • This role offers exposure to a wide range of turbine platforms, site conditions, and team environments—ideal for technicians who thrive on variety and continuous learning. Who You Are • At least 6 months with a Wind Technician certificate, or 1 year of wind turbine experience, or 2 years in mechanical or electrical fields • Highly developed problem-solving abilities and an engaged approach to responsibilities • Safety-conscious and committed to best practices. • Able to work well with others and enjoy collaborative environments. • Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights. • Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English. • You have a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license, and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship. Renewable Energy Siting Specialist 1

Duties Description The Renewable Energy Siting Specialist 1, Grade 18, will work on the Local Laws and Agriculture team within the Generation Section of the Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Electric Transmission (ORES) and will perform duties related to the process of review applications for siting of major renewable energy facilities and major electrical transmission lines, focusing on impacts on agriculture and on compliance with local laws and regulations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Reviewing siting applications, compliance filings, and supporting documentation to ensure consistency with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Making recommendations concerning courses of action necessary to issue siting application permits consistent with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including the need for waivers from local laws that may be overly burdensome on a proposed project. Providing technical assistance and information related to local law compliance and agricultural issues to applicants and consultants. Participating in meetings and corresponding with other state and federal agencies, developers, utilities, and local governments to discuss concerns and gather feedback. Gathering data, analyzing application materials, evaluating requests from applicants for waivers, and preparing written reports to recommend further action. Developing and presenting siting permit conditions and local law waivers, administrative proceedings, briefs, comments, and drafting findings. Responding to public comments and participating in internal and multi-party meetings, conferences, public outreach events, and hearings. Preparing for and attending adjudicatory hearings. Working on related special projects and additional relevant duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications General Public Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and two years of experience* in environmental impact review or study of electricity, gas, water, telecommunications, or renewable energy projects such as solar and wind; development or analysis of land use policies for electricity, gas, water, telecommunications, or renewable energy projects; or specialized experience** related to energy transmission or production facilities. *Substitution: A master's degree may substitute for one year of non-supervisory experience. A Ph.D. may substitute for two years of non-supervisory experience. ** Specialized experience must be in fields such as agriculture, anthropology, archeology, architecture, avian sciences, botany, civil/construction engineering, climate change, electrical power systems engineering, energy planning, environmental compliance, environmental engineering, environmental justice, fire protection, geography, geology, geotechnical engineering, hydrology, landscape architecture, mining engineering, noise/acoustics engineering, planning, real estate, seismology, socio-economics, terrestrial ecology, transportation/highway engineering, urban affairs Preferred candidates would have specialized experience or education in one or more of the following: zoning and other local laws and regulations related to land use and siting, agriculture - including co-location of agriculture and renewable energy, and municipal and regional planning. Additional preferred qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication skills, GIS capabilities, and experience with regulatory affairs. Vestas Certified Wind Turbine Service Technician

Vestas is seeking a certified wind turbine service technician to join our team in the USA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled wind turbine maintenance, leading and mentoring wind technicians during troubleshooting, repairs, and service operations. You will also be required to perform electrical and mechanical tasks, including torquing, tensioning, greasing, and filter changes, as well as hydraulic and electrical component maintenance, major component exchanges (MCEs), alignments using mechanical or laser tools, and inspections using borescopes. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of successful service and troubleshooting experience on wind turbines, preferably with Vestas platforms. They must also possess strong physical abilities, including climbing wind turbines up to 120m+, standing, stooping, walking, crawling, crouching, lifting up to 75 lbs., and meeting the physical demands of the position. In addition, the candidate should be willing and able to travel extensively, often on short notice, and spend extended periods away from home at project sites. They must also have a valid passport, a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to drive up to 11 hours per day when required.
