And we do it with pleasure. • You will play an important role in: The Hydro-electric Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of hydroelectric generator systems and related equipment including PLCs. • Practice safe work habits and follow correct safety policies and procedures; • Ensure that company personnel, contractors, and consultants are following company approved safety policies, procedures, and that company property is protected by performing the applicable duties; • Perform station and unit operations as required; • Identify and repair as necessary, station hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems including analytical problem solving / troubleshooting; • Be adaptable to learning solar operations and maintenance as Boralex adds to it’s portfolio; • Be available, as necessary, for after hour “call- ins”, including working in an on-call rotation for 1 week as scheduled. • To succeed in this position, you need: • Two or four year degree in E.E. or E.E.T. or related field (or equivalent experience); • Experience with repair and maintenance of hydro turbine/generator systems and related equipment is preferred as follows: Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulics, PLC troubleshooting and programming; • High voltage transmission and distribution training and experience; • Working knowledge of the OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E and Arc Flash requirements; • Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings and schematics; • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; • Flexibility to add skills and work in a multi-disciplinary environment; • Be able and willing to perform physical labor as needed; • Knowledge of windows based software including Outlook, Excel, Word and SAP; • Valid driver’s license with clean record required; • Periodic overnight/out of town travel.
