What’s a typical day as a Wind Technical Lab Assistant? You’ll be: • Supporting and ensuring lab safety rules are always maintained. • Assisting in repairs of various models of GE Wind Turbines, including component replacements and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults. • Coordinating crews of students and overseeing contractors. • Demonstrating proper use of lab tools and equipment and performing maintenance activities. • Performing administrative functions such as ordering and shipping tooling, maintaining inventory, and ordering parts. • Organizing, cleaning, and sanitizing tools and equipment in the lab. This job might be an outstanding fit if you: • Have an associate degree in a technical field or 1 year of wind field experience or 4 years of military experience in an electrical/mechanical field. • Have the ability and willingness to operate heavy equipment. • Have the ability and willingness to climb wind turbines and work at heights. • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. • Are able and willing to work swing shift. Desired Characteristics: • Familiarity with and ability to operate basic hand tools. • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics field. • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings. • Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field. • Mechanical knowledge, electrical aptitude, and ability to read schematics. • Ability to take initiative and work without direct supervision. • Ability to read, interpret technical manuals, procedures, and regulations. • Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience. • Experience using hydraulic power tools. • Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements. • Experience with the 1.x turbine platform. • Experience with the 2.x turbine platform. • Wind farm site experience. • Understanding of the electric utility industry. • Fluency in English and proficiency in additional languages, particularly with technical explanations. • Strong computer skills including all MS Office 365 products, MS Teams, photo and video editing, audio and video equipment usage. Wind Machine Head Systems Engineer

Job Description Summary The Machine Head System Integration Leader will be responsible for defining the machine head related requirements of wind turbines and ensuring the design meets these requirements. You will support Machine Head development projects from concept through operation. You will work with diverse, cross-functional teams to execute component/system trade studies and select the best designs against multiple criteria. Job Description Essential Responsibilities: • Support Machine Head operations across our US manufacturing facilities and wind farms for new units. • Optimize and improve existing machine head components from short-term execution to long-term technology strategy, including load evaluation for different applications, design to cost considering should cost models. • Identify and escalate key product/program risks & mitigation plans • Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, quality teams, manufacturing engineers, supply chain, field support and others • Own and define machine head requirements for teams throughout engineering to effectively execute programs, translate DM1 requirements into more specific technical requirements for component engineers • Track and drive mitigation plans of the Machine Head risks by leading DFMEAs. • Support machine head validation plan & execution. • Own the definition of interfaces within machine head and to other surrounding components. Conduct 3D model reviews with PDE and component owners. Work with other Subsystem teams as necessary to define and review interfaces between subsystems. • Work with certification and testing institutes, support customer and due diligence activities for the machine head subsystem. • Investigate causes for component interferences, functional failures, execute SAFER cases, RCA's as needed • Support field issues that arise related to machine head subsystem (PAC cases, etc.) • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews • Drive simplification and standardization best practices into engineering analyses validation, and program execution Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering • Minimum of 3 years of significant engineering or other technical experience • Ability and willingness to travel (~20%) and climb wind turbines Desired Characteristics: • Engineering experience in wind turbine application • Project management skills • Solid background in mechanical design engineering, with good mechanical sense and fundamental base • Solid knowledge of wind turbine design, assembly and manufacturing • Strong communication, presentation and leadership skills • Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries • Experience with mechanical systems & designs, including expertise with drivetrain components and/or structural components • Technical drawing and design interpretation background The salary range for this position is $98,400 - $164,000 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
