Responsible for performing welding operations on metal components according to specifications, blueprints, and safety standards. This position plays a key role in fabricating and assembling structural and mechanical products used in our manufacturing processes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications. • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment. • Perform grinding, cutting, and other finishing tasks as required. • Determine the appropriate welding equipment, settings, and methods based on requirements. • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded. • Align components using fixtures, tape measure, levels, speed square, etc. and clamp pieces • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead). • Prepare trailers and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps. • Follow orders, and complete tasks as assigned by supervisor. • Perform other duties as assigned. • The ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards. • Follow prescribed procedures and guidelines. • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities. • Follow all company rules and policies. • Follow all safety rules and quality standards. • Uphold all OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above. • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques involved in the effective manufacture of goods a plus. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to properly identify and compile information to effectively make decisions and set priorities. • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Environment is not climate controlled. Limited control of heat and cooling, hot in the summers and cold in the winters. • Loud industrial environment. • Manufacturing floor with exposure to heat, noise, and welding fumes. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Walking, standing, kneeling, bending are required up to 90% of the workday • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50-70 pounds, up to 20% of the workday WORK HOURS: • This is a full-time position. Work week is Monday through Friday, 10-hour shifts. Saturday will be required when production demand requires overtime. • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to be at work on time.
