Position Summary Qualified individual will work as a team for welding fabricated metal products. Position requires successful completion of a welding test administered according to company guidelines. Tasks This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. • Must be personally responsible and committed to the quality of one's own work. • Must be able to work above production standards. • Welds or tack welds metal parts together, using spot welding gun, pedestal welder, or MIG (GMAW) welding equipment. • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. • Must be able to use grinders or sanders as needed to metal finish parts and or assemblies prior to paint. • Positions and secures work piece, using hoist, wire and banding machine, or hand tools. • Corrects minor malformations in parts. • Examines work piece for defects and measures work piece with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications. • Must be able to operate overhead crane or hoist to move parts. • Insure accuracy in maintaining production records such as quantities and types produced. (Example: travelers, timecards). Must be able to check parts to Quality Control Documents. • Must participate in all required training programs to maintain skill levels for continuous improvement. Must successfully complete training program. • Must be able to maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and comply with all safety rules and procedures. • Must wear and maintain the required protective clothing and equipment including: safety glasses, steel toe safety shoes, and hearing protection, welding helmet, welding gloves, welding jackets. Skills • Must be able to comprehend blueprints and weld symbols and their application to the production part. • Equipment Selection - Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the required job. • Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems. • Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
