Position Summary: ENMU-Roswell is seeking a qualified and dedicated Welding Instructor to join our faculty on a full-time, tenure-track basis. This nine-month contract position is key to delivering hands-on technical welding and fabrication education. This position includes teaching responsibilities, including some evening hours. Some travel may be required for recruitment, community outreach, and professional development. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will contribute to other academic initiatives aligned with their expertise and the College’s evolving needs. This position reports to the Academic Director and the Dean of Technical Education. Duties and Responsibilities: • Teach a range of welding courses, including: • Structural and pipe welding (introductory through advanced levels) • Welding-related mathematics • Print reading • Metal fabrication techniques • Prepare students for welder qualification exams and industry certification. • Develop course materials, syllabi, and maintain online content via Canvas. • Track and report student attendance and academic performance. • Maintain welding lab equipment, tools, and supplies. • Advise students on academic plans and progress toward credentials. • Participate in departmental planning and semester course scheduling. • Serve on college committees and attend required meetings and campus events. • Contribute to recruitment and outreach initiatives. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the College’s mission. Requirements Minimum Job Requirements: • Associate’s degree plus three years of full-time work experience in the welding field or five years of full-time work experience in the welding field. • Applicants without an Associate’s degree or AWS Certification (CWI/CWE) must complete the degree and obtain CWI/CWE certification within three years of the hire date. • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record. • Authorization to work in the United States at the time of employment. Preferred: • Associate's Degree or higher in a related field such as: • Welding • Metallurgy • Mechanical Engineering • Teaching experience. • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE). Working Conditions • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in environments varying temperatures, including extreme hot and cold. • Requires lifting up to 80 pounds and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. • May involve minor safety hazards that could result in cuts, bruises, or similar injuries. • Deadlines are routine with generally sufficient lead time. Work volume varies seasonally in a predictable manner.
