Maloy Mobile Storage Inc. is looking for skilled Welders and/or Carpenters needed for modifying shipping containers. Must be experienced and have competent welding and/or carpentry skills to apply. Must have tools and and understanding of how to use them. The position is Full-Time with an opportunity to work overtime. Welder/Fabricator/Fitter

Position Title: Fabricator / Shop Lead Overview: This is a key operational role responsible for keeping fabrication schedules on track, ensuring high-quality production, and supporting the growth of the shop’s capabilities. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on fabrication expertise with leadership traits to help scale a busy custom gate and fencing operation. Core Responsibilities: • Fabrication Execution: • Cut, assemble, and finish custom steel gate components to project specifications. • Operate and maintain key equipment including CNC plasma tables, cold saws, grinders, and MIG welding systems. • Interpret and execute from fabrication prints, shop drawings, and field dimensions. • Project Coordination: • Track daily production goals and maintain progress on open work orders. • Coordinate with estimators, field techs, and project managers to clarify build requirements and timelines. • Ensure materials are staged and ready ahead of build cycles to reduce downtime. • Quality Control: • Verify measurements, weld integrity, component alignment, and finish prep prior to field deployment. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment. • Troubleshoot issues in fabrication or design to prevent delays during installation. • Shop Development: • Recommend improvements in tooling, layout, and fabrication processes. • Assist in training junior shop staff or apprentices as the team grows. • Support onboarding of new equipment and technology as shop capacity increases. Qualifications: • Proficiency with MIG welding, steel fabrication, and machine operation (CNC plasma table, cold saw, grinders). • Ability to read and modify shop drawings, prints, or CAD output. • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. • Self-motivated with a proactive, solution-focused mindset. • Prior experience in custom metalwork, gate systems, or architectural fabrication strongly preferred.
