Position Summary Construct, repair and maintain metal portions of assigned City facilities and equipment using welding methods and techniques; review work orders and assess equipment and materials required for each task; respond to emergencies and perform field repairs and perform other technical maintenance duties relative to assigned area of responsibility. High school diploma or GED; and Two (2) years technical training in metal technology, welding, or fabrication; and Two (2) years welding experience. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of AWS (American Welding Society) Welder Certification preferred.
