The Project Team Welder is responsible for the layout, fit, and fabrication of metal components to assemble structural forms, fabrication of equipment and furniture to facilitate the Bethel campuses. Expansive knowledge of welding techniques and understanding of metals and their proper use, and a degree of engineering skills. Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications for specific welding jobs. Top Responsibilities: • Design and fabricate components needed for various projects. • Layout, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers. • Tack-weld and weld components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, and other welding equipment. • Cut workpieces, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knives. • Install and repair equipment, such as landscape equipment and school related playground equipment. • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. • Attend and complete safety training related to occupational work conditions and safety hazards as required by the Facilities Department. • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks as requested.
