Job Title: 2nd Shift TIG Welder Job Description This is a 2nd shift position with hours from 3pm-11:30pm or 3:30pm-12:00am. As a welder, you will be responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating equipment to cut, stamp, bend, and form metal parts and materials. You will read engineered blueprints and drawings to weld customized parts together using TIG, MIG, and PAW (Plasma Arc) welding techniques on stainless steel. You will also be responsible for examining welds, testing completed products for reliability, and assisting in the assembly of equipment and machinery. Responsibilities • Prepare materials and/or parts for welding specifications • Set up and operate equipment needed to cut, stamp, bend, and form metal parts and materials for welding • Read engineered blueprints and drawings to weld customized parts together • Perform TIG, MIG, and PAW (Plasma Arc) welding on stainless steel parts, vessels, and enclosures • Weld flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts by positioning bolts, clamps, and tack welding to secure position prior to welding • Examine welds for bead size and other specifications • Test completed products for welding reliability and completeness; clean, re-weld, grind, and finish welding as necessary • Help build and assemble parts of equipment and machinery as needed • Partner with engineers on a daily basis on new product development Essential Skills • 3-5 years of TIG welding experience, specifically on stainless steel • Ability to perform vertical and horizontal welds • Ability to read engineered blueprints and drawings for customized products • Experience examining welds for bead size and other specifications • Ability to set up and operate welding equipment and equipment needed to cut, stamp, bend, and form metal parts and materials • Willingness and ability to assemble and build manufactured parts when needed • Willingness and ability to closely partner with the engineering team and test completed products for welding reliability and completeness Additional Skills & Qualifications • 3-5 years of experience welding on customized products (preferred but not required) • Experience performing assembly of large industrial manufactured parts and/or equipment (preferred but not required) Why Work Here? The Tool Room Machinist fabricates and/or repairs precision fixtures, gages, shop aids, and replacement parts to support production operations. Qualifications: Education and Experience • 5 or more years of welding experience • Strong math skills in relation to basic math, algebra, and geometry. • Knowledge of basic tools and their applications • Ability to pass weld tests, such as x-ray or hydrostatic • Knowledge of different welding positions, procedures, and safety equipment. • (Preferred) Advanced knowledge of various types of scaffold builds, such as independent access, birdcage, hanging, truss out, and tower.
