SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The CM&W Welder will Assemble and weld metal parts in production, using welding equipment, requiring advance skills and knowledge of welding techniques while complying with all company and safety policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Welds metal parts together per print and if specified, spot welding as required. MIG or TIG welding equipment. 2. Adjust welder for type and gauge of material to be welded per recommended settings. 3. Follow drawing for welding position and specification of welds. Welder Level I: Acceptably weld parts to print specification with some supervision. Able to read prints. Welder Level II: Duties of Level I, plus Class One certified Proficient in MIG or TIG welding. Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Welders: • Knows, understands and uses the appropriate safety equipment in a welding environment. • Understands paperwork accountability when charging time to specific work orders. • Reads and interprets blueprints. • Understands how to safely operate powered hand tools. • Trained in torch operations. • Demonstrated ability to stick/mig/tig weld in all positions. • Understands machines and area maintenance. • Certified or certifiable to weld. • Understands how to open varied prints for article inspection. • Trained in overhead lifting equipment. • Develop and maintain solid employee morale and safety awareness. • Adheres to safety and environmental rules. • Performs general housekeeping.
