Responsibilities • Perform stick welding and MIG welding on barges. • Conduct grinding and torch cutting as required. • Utilize blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and fitting. • Work efficiently within a machine shop environment to supply precise materials needed for repairs. Essential Skills • Proficiency in MIG and stick welding techniques. • Experience in blueprint reading and interpretation. • Skilled in grinding and torch cutting. • Ability to accurately measure and fit components using a tape measure. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Welding certificates are highly desirable. • Previous shipyard experience is preferred. • Ability to work in varying weather conditions such as wind, rain, snow, and heat.
