Location - NA, Missouri, 63129shift - 6:00 AM to 4:30 & 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.pay - $20/hr - $30/hrJob Description We are seeking a Barge Welder experienced in stick welding and MIG welding. The primary responsibility is to repair barges that come up and down the river. Repairs are conducted onsite with precise materials supplied by our machine shop. Responsibilities • Perform stick welding and MIG welding on barges. • Conduct grinding and torch cutting as required. • Utilize blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and fitting. • Work efficiently within a machine shop environment to supply precise materials needed for repairs. Essential Skills • Proficiency in MIG and stick welding techniques. • Experience in blueprint reading and interpretation. • Skilled in grinding and torch cutting. • Ability to accurately measure and fit components using a tape measure. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Welding certificates are highly desirable. • Previous shipyard experience is preferred. • Ability to work in varying weather conditions such as wind, rain, snow, and heat. Triad Manufacturing, Inc., a local manufacturer of store fixtures, has an immediate opening for an experienced custom welder. The successful candidate must have 5 years experience with welding processes and welding stainless and aluminum. Position Scope: • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Position Duties and Responsibilities: • Selects welding procedures best suited to type of work and material involved and vary techniques to obtain proper penetration, fusion and strength, offset distortion and maintain alignment. • Reads fabrication prints, production orders, bills of material, and process sheets. Reviews all parts for accuracy. • Sets the controls and/or make the proper adjustments to the welding torch, wire feed motor, and power supply. • Fits-up jobs in welding fixtures and jigs. Ensures proper alignment and dimensional specifications are held. • Welds or tacks parts into various sub-assemblies or complete assemblies. Qualifications: • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings/blue prints. • A sound and thorough knowledge of welding technology, equipment types, purposes and applications, material characteristics and basic metallurgy. • Knowledge and skill in MIG and TIG welding, as well as basic fabrication machines. • Ability to weld a variety of materials, especially stainless steels, in all positions. • This position requires flexibility in work hours (first shift and potential overtime) and a willingness to work assignments in other areas as required.
