Responsibilities • Apply methods to ensure actual welds meet both physical strength and aesthetic requirements. • Conduct pre and post weld surface preparation such as cleaning, brushing, and grinding. • Ensure proper tool selection and set-up, including torch tips, filler rod, amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse. • Determine the correct equipment and technique to be used for each task (Gas, MIG, TIG, etc.). • Implement proper physical set-up and alignment using jigs, fixtures, and clamps. • Perform regular preventative and routine maintenance on machines and tools required for daily tasks, including test equipment. • Inspect and approve welds performed by yourself and others. • Perform repairs of weldments. • Perform required safety measures necessary to protect both the operators and others. Essential Skills • Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift. • High attention to detail with a focus on quality and producing quality parts. • Welding experience (MIG/TIG), with pay determined based on experience. • Basic computer skills to document production progress and communicate with teammates. • Familiarity with welding techniques such as Mig, Tig, and Flux core. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Ability to read blueprints. • Quality control or quality inspection experience. • Machine operation experience. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a quality over quantity environment that prioritizes safety and collaboration. Enjoy a temperature-controlled facility with required steel toes, safety glasses, and gloves. The first shift runs from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the second shift from 3:45 PM to 12:30 AM, with a $1/hour differential. Training occurs on the first shift for six weeks or longer. Occasional mandatory overtime announced in advance. Employees are encouraged to contribute to process improvements, and communication is maintained through whiteboards.
