Summary The Electrical General Superintendent provides comprehensive on-site management of multiple solar project sites, ensuring all projects are executed in accordance with the overall design, budget, and schedule. This role involves high-level oversight and coordination across various construction activities and project stakeholders. Essential Duties And Responsibilities • Oversee the electrical construction efforts across multiple project sites to ensure adherence to design, budget, and schedule, including interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives, and other contractors. • Identify changes to project execution plan and immediately determine appropriate path forward. • Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions across projects, including scheduling, engineering, material control, and the direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc. • Supervise craft employees and other contractors across multiple sites. • Authorize and approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc., as needed. • Provide high-level technical assistance, such as interpretation of drawings, recommendation of construction methods, and selection of equipment, as required. • Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, and safety programs across all sites. • Ensure compliance with all project procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules across all projects. Document violations, notify project management, and implement corrective actions as required. • Assume responsibility for the productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project. • Perform additional duties as directed by senior management. Supervisory Responsibilities • Directly manage multiple subordinate supervisors, each responsible for various field operations across project sites. • Indirectly oversee a broader range of team members engaged in field operations. Requirements • Extensive knowledge and experience with self-performing solar construction activities such as underground utility construction and electrical wiring of major components on a solar facility. • Travel frequently between project sites out of town and out of state. • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and teams. Education And Experience • Minimum of twenty years of craft supervision experience across solar construction projects. • Experienced in the electrical construction of solar facilities from start to finish. Such as; Project setup, mobilization, SWPP Installation, electrical, commissioning and testing. • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction including technology, equipment, methods; craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety. Candidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination. This exam is essential to ensure that all potential employees meet the necessary health and fitness standards for the role. The examination includes a series of tests and evaluations conducted by a certified medical professional to assess overall physical health, identify any potential medical conditions that could interfere with job performance, and verify that the candidate is capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position. Education/Certifications • CHST from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals is required. • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health is strongly preferred. Requirements • Previous experience in EPC Solar Construction to include land clearing, mass grading, site development, foundation installation, grounding installation, racking installation, photovoltaic panels and inverter wiring and installation and commissioning. • Minimum of 2 years previous construction safety experience. Previous management experience preferred. • Highly motivated individual with ability to effectively communicate up and down the organizational structure. • Strong planning, organizational, and people management skills. • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft applications, Bluebeam, and similar. • Must be bilingual in Spanish.
