Safety Specialist - Solar

* Travel Required * Summary This safety professional position will be assigned to work in the field and visit multiple projects sites. Frequent travel will be required. Employees may be moved to single projects when needed. This position performs varied field safety duties in support of the assigned projects to include field observations/coaching, onboarding/training, and working with the Power Team to plan for upcoming work. Primary Responsibilities • Conduct regular walk-through inspections of right of way, substations and other work locations to ensure compliance with company, client, local, state, and federal safety policies and regulations. • Identify, document and recommend resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made. Must be familiar with Transmission and Substation work processes. • Prepares supporting documentation of all safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability. • Conduct investigations of all incidents, injuries, property damage and theft and prepares necessary documentation. • Perform new hire onboarding and employee training. • Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations and identify all requirements that apply or may apply. • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. Education/Certifications • CHST from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals is strongly preferred. • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health is strongly preferred. Requirements • Previous experience in EPC Solar Construction to include land clearing, mass grading, site development, foundation installation, grounding installation, racking installation, photovoltaic panels and inverter wiring and installation and commissioning. • Minimum of 2 years previous construction safety experience. Previous management experience preferred. • Highly motivated individual with ability to effectively communicate up and down the organizational structure. • Strong planning, organizational, and people management skills. • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft applications, Bluebeam, and similar.
