Location & Travel Details: This position requires travel across the US for renewable projects. Expect to spend 8-12 months on average per project, with up to 100% travel time. We offer a designated daily per diem in addition to base pay to support living expenses, and you will have the chance for routine travel home (rotation) from the job site. Additionally, this role comes with a monthly vehicle allowance. Responsibilities: • Promote and adhere to company safety policies and procedures. • Inspect and ensure quality of work on large-scale wind and solar projects, including roads, excavations, substations, and installations. • Confirm construction work aligns with design documents. • Review inspection reports and communicate any failures to the Field Quality Manager. • Ensure materials comply with approved submittals and site specifications. • Conduct surveying and measuring for roadways and structures. • Organize daily activities to accurately record Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) data. • Monitor work scope and prepare comprehensive Daily Reports on progress and resources used. • Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction inspections and promptly address issues. • Collaborate with the Field Quality Manager and site management to ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements. • Communicate with construction managers to report on progress and coordinate field operations. • Assist with compiling operations and maintenance manuals. • Ensure compliance with receiving and inventory processes for materials. • Establish and manage punch lists for completed work. • Help maintain production and extra work authorization logs. • Participate in daily validation of calibrated tools and equipment. • Utilize construction management software for inspections and documentation. • Assist or participate in phase gate preparations. • Support benchmarking and job book development. • Mentor and train Quality Inspectors as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Field Engineer I: $65,000-$70,000/year, commensurate with experience; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred; High School graduate or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience in related construction field. • Field Engineer II: $70,000-$80,000/year, commensurate with experience; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 1-2 years of experience; High School graduate or equivalent with 3+ years’ experience in related construction field. • Field Engineer III: $80,000-$90,000/year, commensurate with experience; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred with 2-3 years of experience; High School graduate or equivalent with 4+ years’ experience in related construction field. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Take reasonable care of health and safety for yourself and others, adhering to the Company's Zero Injury principles. • Self-starter, organized with strong interpersonal and written skills. • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Proficient in using computers and software packages to support documentation and quality records. • Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Detail-oriented to effectively manage tasks independently. • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures. • Capable of writing daily reports and documenting project activities. • Effectively collect and record field data to ensure activities adhere to corporate Quality Control procedures. • Ensure effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned tasks. • Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts. • Ability to communicate clearly and interact effectively with a diverse group of field-level employees. Working Environment: • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts, including overtime and night shifts. • Jobsite work environments may expose you to hazards and require following basic safety precautions. • Moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, or loud noises may occur. • Comfort with physical tasks, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders is essential.
