Benefits: • Competitive salary • Signing bonus • Training & development GT Solar Maintenance – Traveling Crew Leader (Zero-Turn Mowing Operations) Lead regional mowing crews across utility-scale solar field sites – Competitive pay, bonuses, and growth potential GT Solar Maintenance, a leader in vegetation management for utility-scale solar fields, is seeking a motivated Crew Leader to oversee teams of Zero Turn Mower Operators throughout our regional service areas. This is a traveling leadership position, responsible for managing field operations, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high-quality service across multiple states. Most projects are based in Texas, with additional work in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Idaho. We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on leader with strong communication skills, the ability to motivate crews in outdoor environments, and a willingness to travel frequently. Key Responsibilities: • Supervise and work alongside crews operating zero-turn mowers and string trimmers at solar energy sites. • Ensure job sites meet safety and quality standards, with a strong focus on precision and protecting solar infrastructure. • Conduct daily safety briefings, perform site evaluations, and enforce proper PPE use and operational protocols. • Serve as the primary point of contact between crew members and company management. • Coordinate crew logistics, equipment needs, and daily production goals. • Assist in minor equipment troubleshooting and maintenance when needed. • Train and mentor new hires and promote a culture of accountability and teamwork. Qualifications: • Prior experience operating and managing crews using zero-turn mowers or similar equipment is required. • Proven leadership or crew management experience in landscaping, vegetation control, or a similar field. • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather (heat, rain, dust). • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • MUST have a dependable vehicle and be willing to travel out of state regularly. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required. Compensation & Benefits: • Pay Range: $15–$20 per hour, based on experience and leadership ability. • Per Diem: $68/day during travel for meals and personal expenses. • Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 ($500 after 2 months, $500 after 6 months). • Performance-based bonuses for attendance, job completion, and team efficiency. • Referral Bonus: $500 for each successful hire ($100 after 30 days, $400 after 90 days). • Access to retirement and insurance benefits after 6 months. Schedule & Travel Expectations: • Work 5–6 days per week with occasional overnight trips (1–3 weeks at a time). • Daily shifts average 10–12 hours, depending on site needs and weather conditions. Work Environment: • All work is performed outdoors on utility-scale solar fields in variable conditions (hot, dusty, wet). • Crew leaders are expected to lead by example and be hands-on in the field when needed. • GT Solar provides all necessary PPE.
