RWE Clean Energy, LLC To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent Functional area: Operations & Maintenance Remuneration: Non-Exempt The Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician II monitors the Solar & Energy Storage farm's availability and ensures mechanical and electrical maintenance is being performed when necessary to maintain established safety and operating targets. Responsible for executing daily scheduling philosophy utilizing a prioritized list of work provided by planning, with a focus on maximizing generation and ensuring proactive work is prioritized and completed. Role Responsibilities: • Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV & battery storage electrical equipment • Ensure that all assigned maintenance tasks are performed safely and in accordance with site operating procedures established • for Storage/Solar PV sites • Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSA's, Permit to Work, and job-specific documentation that is required to • conduct maintenance and repairs in a safe manner • Proactively look for improvement opportunities in job-appropriate processes and procedures • Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements • Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required • Perform maintenance on BESS, trackers, inverters, and other PV electrical equipment as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Lead • Monitor the activities of maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions where appropriate • Perform current and voltage readings as necessary • Document all work and generate reports as necessary • Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environment • At times, may assist with BOP activities • Use available tools to monitor energy output and respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring • immediate troubleshooting and corrective actions • Ensure site protocols perform site access, site HSE, security, deliveries, and inspections • Interface with any 3rd party contractors working at our facilities • Available to respond to nontraditional operating hours for operations, maintenance, and emergent issues, including emergent abnormal operating conditions, execution of maintenance, tracking work orders, and resolution of O&M issues • All other duties as assigned Job Requirements and Experiences: • High School Diploma or GED required • Associate degree in engineering or related Science from an accredited US school, other than correspondence or internet preferred • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, transmission, and distribution. The Solar Installer will utilize a wide variety of tools and machines to assemble and construct the solar equipment based on the scheduled work plans. Key Responsibilities • Follow safety policies and procedures. • Maintain a clean job site and shake out material to the field. • Bolt up clamps for solar panels. • Hoist torque tubes into position and align/secure torque tubes. • Set drive motors. • Installation of dampeners and linkage between drive motors. • Set and install solar modules. • Tighten bolts to the proper torque specifications. • Receive/stock materials and maintain accurate inventory. • Quality control for the scope of work. • When using equipment fill out equipment checklist and verify all items are in good working order, if not report the issue prior to damage occurring.
