We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal/ Ductwork Fabricator to join our team! The ideal candidate will be able to pass a weld test, have strong knowledge of different types of metals, interpret blueprints, and produce quality goods that reflect SMSI standards. Compensation: $23+ hourly DOE Responsibilities: • Assist in making parts for tin ductwork and fittings, using breaks, rolls, hand tools, and proven methods to make quality parts. • Adhere to the blueprints to fulfill the product specifications. • Determine material dimensions to confirm requirements. • Inspect and examine parts to ensure they meet the quality standards and expectations. • Ensure that equipment and tools are used and kept in good working order, for longevity of tool life and safety purposes. • Follow all company and customer protocols and regulations. • Paint, weld, and produce quality material, and be able to fill in for other positions around the shop. • This position is safety sensitive. Qualifications: • Must have proven experience in welding and fabrication, and be able to pass a weld test. • Prior experience in fabricating ductwork from light-gauge metals and/or experience with HVAC ductwork is a plus. • Strong capabilities in interpreting engineering blueprints and drawings. • Experience with fabrication and hand tools. • Excellent understanding of various types of metal and their respective properties. • Capacity to manage physical demands. • Familiarity with Safety regulations and readiness to utilize personal protective Equipment (PPE). • OSHA 10-hour will be required within 30 days of employment. • Experience with painting is a plus, and willingness to be a backup for these positions.
