Sheet Metal Installer

MCC is currently seeking a SHEET METAL INSTALLER. Individuals will install and assemble sheet metal equipment products and structures, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using a hammer operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces. ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material such as roofing panels, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, or rulers • Fasten seams or joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, or bonds to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items • Install assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and air conditioning ducts, furnace casings • Convert blueprints into shop drawings in the construction or assembly of sheet metal products • Fabricate ducts for high-efficiency heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maximize the efficiency of systems • Develop and layout patterns that use materials most efficiently using computerized metalworking equipment or experiment with different layouts • Maneuver completed units into position for installation and anchor the units • Transport prefabricated parts to construction sites for assembly and installation • Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets • 10. Trim, file, grind, de-burr, buff, or smooth surfaces, seams, or joints of assembled parts, using hand tools or portable power tools • Finish parts, using hacksaws or hand, rotary, or squaring shears • Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of the essential duties • Work with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance of these essential duties • Drive a vehicle to various job-sites throughout working hours and maintain valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company policy • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performance • Perform other duties as assigned Requirements ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS • Exposure to varying outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, varying fumes or odors; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; and work in ditches/excavations • Work at heights, such as by working on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, tops of single and multi-story buildings, as well as working in confined spaces such as underneath single story and multi-story buildings • Lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing 50-100 pounds • Must be able to perform manual and repetitive tasks and body movements including standing and/or walking for long periods of time, bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying • Must be able to see naturally or with correction, to safely perform designated tasks • Must be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and priorities • Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time to perform duties in a safe manner • This position is subject to ergonomic testing SAFETY SENSITIVE This position is designated as a safety sensitive position because it includes as part of the job duties the operating, maintaining, and monitoring of heavy equipment and machinery, and working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. Foreman Sheet Metal

Supervises divisional projects and team members, ensuring all projects are complete per specific guidelines, to include quality and safety standards. Is responsible for coordinating employee schedules, maintain, and approve time entered into the MCC timekeeping database. Provides coaching opportunities to existing team members, manages ordering and receipts of project inventory, and administrative support as required by the project manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Coordinates activities with administrators, field supervisors, the public, and co-workers, and performs work within his/her trade certification when required. • Initiates discussions and seeks solutions on a regular basis concerning work-related issues such as team building, and personal conflicts. • Communicates with employees, MCC’s workplace expectations, to include; advising, directing, and issuing of verbal or written warnings to employees concerning professional performance, with Division Manager approval. • Works independently, and as required travels to construction sites to meet project-based needs • Reviews work requests to determine personnel requirements, procures materials necessary, ensures tools and equipment are available, and adheres the schedule provided by the estimator/project manager. • Provides continuous improvement and develops new divisional procedures/processes with Divisional Manager approval. • Responds effectively to inquiries from the customer. • Ensures that all timecards for the employees assigned to him/her are accurate and submitted to payroll within specified timelines. • Obtains weekly cost reports and other administrative requirements from the customer within specified timelines. • Responsible for maintaining a clean work area, tools, and equipment • Adheres and leads others in all OSHA, customer, MCC, and site-specific safety procedures. • Obtain permits when required • Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of the essential duties • Work with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance of these essential duties • Drive a vehicle to various jobsites throughout working hours a.
