Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and dependable HVAC Ductwork Fabricator to join our in-house sheet metal team. This role supports both commercial and residential projects, with a 50/50 mix of work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately fabricating sheet metal duct systems based on project specifications, ensuring high quality and efficiency in every build. You’ll work on everything from small-batch custom residential duct to large-scale commercial systems—giving you the opportunity to broaden your skillset in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: • Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications for both residential and commercial HVAC systems. • Lay out, measure, and mark sheet metal in preparation for cutting and forming. • Cut, bend, notch, and assemble ductwork using a range of tools, including shears, brakes, plasma cutters, and roll formers. • Fabricate a variety of duct types, including round, rectangular, and specialty fittings for both new construction and retrofit jobs. • Maintain adherence to SMACNA standards for both residential and commercial applications. • Assemble duct sections using S-cleats, drive cleats, Pittsburgh seams, and other appropriate methods. • Ensure all fabricated materials meet project requirements for quality, sizing, and airtightness. • Support loading, staging, and delivery coordination of fabricated duct to job sites. • Collaborate with shop and field teams to prioritize urgent or time-sensitive fabrications. • Keep shop tools and equipment in good working conditions and maintain a clean work area. • Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required; vocational training in HVAC or sheet metal preferred. • 2+ years of experience in HVAC duct fabrication, ideally with a mix of residential and commercial work. • Ability to read and interpret HVAC blueprints and shop drawings. • Knowledge of SMACNA standards for both residential and commercial systems. • Skilled in using sheet metal fabrication tools and machinery. • Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. • Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs and working on your feet for extended periods. • Good communication and teamwork skills.
