Metal Fabricator

Job Purpose: Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing duties on the following machines such as but not limited to; Saw, Manual Lathe/Manual Mill, Drilling/Lay-Out, Press Brake, and Plasma Table. Essential Functions • Read and interpret level 1 blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. • Layout and mark dimension and reference lines for level 1 complex projects. • Plans, layouts and fabricates metal parts, equipment, and products on level 1 machines within router time with little to no supervision. • Identify materials using calipers, micrometers, and gauges. • Perform operator maintenance on level 1 equipment. • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Secures tools, materials, and equipment at end of day. • Ensures work orders are properly followed and completed in a timely fashion. • All other duties as assigned. If lifting over 50 pounds employees should utilize a jib, overhead crane, or ask for assistance from other team members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. • The work environment is usually an indoor setting with frequent exposure to outside elements. The noise level in the work environment is frequently high. In addition, other elements that an employee could be exposed to frequently in this work environment are but not limited to; dust, dirt, fumes and odors, mechanical and electrical hazards, fire hazards, and an elevated workplace.
