Job Summary: Sheet Metal Worker is to produce a finished product that meets the requirements specified in a schematics sheet or blueprint and is free of defects and flaws. Duties and Responsibilities: • Studying blueprints, diagrams and specification sheets to gain a thorough understanding of the work required • Choosing the right sheet metals to use for a project based on the plan or blueprints • Precisely measuring sheet metal and marking it at the proper places to comply with required specifications • Using cutting tools to prepare sheet metal for use in subsequent steps in manufacturing or as-is installation • Shaping, drilling and bending sheet metal to fabricate parts or components • Installing metal sheets on construction sites • Welding, bolting, brazing and soldering sheet metal to join pieces together • Cooperating with Gulf Coast Industrial Supervisors and co-workers in carrying out assigned work. • Assist in loading, unloading and storage of equipment and supplies. • At all times perform his work in the safest possible manner. Immediately inform the Gulf Coast Industrial Supervisor of any unsafe condition.
