Sheet Metal Operator

Job Title: Sheet Metal Operator Job Description As a Sheet Metal Operator, you will be responsible for the setup of hydraulic CNC Press Brakes or Punch Presses. You will form parts according to specifications and document progress, ensuring efficiency in a high-volume environment while maintaining minimal scrap levels. Additionally, you will identify material defects during production runs. Responsibilities • Set up hydraulic CNC Press Brakes or Punch Presses. • Form parts according to print specifications and document progress. • Maintain efficiency in a high-volume environment. • Ensure minimum or zero scrap levels. • Identify material defects throughout production runs. Essential Skills • 6+ months of blueprint reading experience. • 6+ months of using measurement tools such as protractors, calipers, and dial calipers. • 6+ months of operating a press brake or punch press. • 6+ months of CNC machine operation experience. • Experience setting up machines with PLC programming and editing capabilities. • Ability to lift 60+ lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications • 2+ years of experience in a sheet metal facility. • 2+ years of experience on press brake or punch press. • Experience performing 4+ changeovers per day. Work Environment The work environment is clean and spacious, equipped with both heating and air conditioning. The team consists of 10 members per shift. Shifts operate Monday through Friday with three available shifts: 1st (6am-2pm), 2nd (2pm-10pm), and 3rd (10pm-6am). Overtime on Saturdays is anticipated for the foreseeable future. The dress code requires steel or composite toe shoes, jeans or docker pants, safety glasses, and short nails. Earbuds are not permitted on the floor. Candidates will participate in a first-day orientation class from 7am to 11:30am. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, Nebraska. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Requirements: • 2+ years of experience working aircraft structures. • Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings. • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status. • A&P Certified is preferred, but not required. About the position Duncan Aviation is seeking a skilled Sheetmetal Specialist to join our team in Lincoln, NE.
