Sheetmetal Fabricator Position This job posting seeks a skilled craftsman who has successfully completed an apprenticeship focused on the Sheetmetal specialty. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing general power plant mechanical work utilizing the Sheetmetal specialty as required. Key Responsibilities: • Under general supervision, sets up and operates fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, etc. to cut, bend, block, and form or straighten materials. • Fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal HVAC equipment and structures; Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints using hand tools, power tools, and lifting and handling devices. • Interprets specifications and working drawings, establishes working points, and transfers drawing measurements to field. Lay-out and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials using scribers, dividers, squares, and rulers. • Rigs materials and equipment, selecting appropriate rigging equipment, slings, chainfalls, etc., determines equipment and material rigging points. Requirements: • Must have completed a formal apprenticeship program and have 4 years of experience working at the journeyperson level. • Must be able to perform a wide range of mechanical maintenance duties within the environment of a hydroelectric power plant.
