Metal Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled welding instructor to teach various courses related to metal fabrication and pipe fitting. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in educating students on different welding processes, including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW. Key Responsibilities • Teach welding-related courses and maintain online homework programs for students • Communicate effectively with all student populations and utilize working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel • Maintain safe operation of metalworking equipment and meet the requirements outlined below Requirements • Valid driver's license and ability to operate state vehicle • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel computer programs • Ability to maintain an online, textbook-based homework program for welding students • Ability to communicate and work effectively with all student populations • Additional skills required as a Pipe Welder in both SMAW and GTAW welding processes in the 6G position • Working knowledge of welding shop safety practices and proper PPE • Knowledge of metal fabrication and pipe fitting, weld machine setup and basic repairs • Ability to pass a welder qualification test in SMAW & GTAW in 3G, 4G & 6G for pipe • Ability to read blueprints with weld symbols • Demonstrated ability in the safe operation of metal shears, drill presses, vertical and horizontal band saws, electric hand grinders, porta-bands, belt sanders, radial tubing saw as well as an Oxy-Acetylene track torch and Plasma cutter • Ability to lift 75lbs and be able to intermittently stand, walk, bend, and push • Good eyesight that may be corrected to 20/20 with glasses • Patience, attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity • Availability to provide weekend instruction • Ability to pull a trailer The ideal candidate will possess previous experience with welder qualification under AWS welding code D1.1 and ASME Sect. IV, previous welding certifications in SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW welding processes, and any additional industry-recognized credentials or certifications relevant to this position are highly desirable.
