Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic Location: Killeen, TX Pay: $26–$30/hr (Based on experience) Schedule: 6 days a week, 10-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 5:30 PM) Project Overview: We are hiring 3 experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics to put together uninsulated duct work, run straight duct work on a ground up project and read blueprints for a commercial project in Killeen, TX. Aircraft Sheetmetal Mechanic AM-I (UH-60, AH-64, CH-47) - FT. Cavazos, TX.

The Aircraft Sheetmetal/Structures Mechanic AM-I (UH-60/AH-64/CH-47) Repairs and replaces aircraft structural components to include stingers, longerons, bulkheads, beams and aircraft skin according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. Repairs, fabricates, modifies and installs structural parts, forming blocks, and shapes metal using stretching, shrinking, and other metal forming techniques. Mixes and applies fiberglass materials, primers and paints to aircraft surfaces, and applies corrosion control treatment to aircraft metals. Balances rotary-wing aircraft blades. Makes emergency and permanent repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures. Uses common measuring tools, precision measuring gages, and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs. Performs checks; carry out inspections and removal of components. Comprehends technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings. Requisitions bench stock for repair of aircraft structures, maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance. Prepares request for turn ins and repair parts and structural components. Uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools. Performs final checks on assembly and installation of parts that were replaced. Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Assists aircraft technicians and mechanics on various tasks. Performs additional duties, including maintenance duties, as requested. Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality). Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two (2) years on the assigned UH-60, AH-64, CH-47 Mission Design Series (MDS) is Required. All experience must be within the six (6) most recent years. U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired; certification of education level is required. Valid (FAA) A&P certificate is preferred, not required. A valid Driver’s License is required. Mechanic Tools and Toolbox are Required: Mechanics must provide their own tools and toolbox. Toolbox to be shadowed and each tool etched with PID. (Recruiter will provide toolbox requirements to candidates upon selection). Security Clearance Requirements:Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Security Clearance NAC-I (T1) Public Trust. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.Knowledge & Skills Thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair. Basic knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, sheet metal brakes and sheers and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC). Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems. Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by Sheetmetal/Structural Mechanic. Physical Requirements/Working Environment Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. May be required to lift/push/pull heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds. Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications. Will handle dirty parts and lubricants. Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification. May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc. May work in maintenance shop or outside. Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty. May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles. May be expected to work in austere environments and all-weather conditions.
