Basic Requirements: • Minimum 5 year Commercial/Industrial Sheet Metal experience. • Own Transportation and willingness to work within the DFW region. • Ability to work off-shift and extended hours as needed. • Provide own hand tools. • Background Check and Drug Test Qualifications • Training and practical knowledge of construction trades. • Must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Under the guidance of the Welder A, Sheet Metal B will manage the set up and operations of several sheet metal machines to fabricate components to specifications. You Will: • Locate the correct gauge of sheet metal for the job. • Set up the machine according to job requirements. • Lay outlines, reference points and dimensions on materials. • Follow blueprints, rough sketches or engineering drawings to shape metal. • Shape work piece to a specific configuration. • Join sheet metal subassemblies together to make finished product. • Inspect part with measuring device to assure it is within tolerances to the blueprint. • Set part on table for final inspection. • Keep track of and report safety issues. • Drive a forklift, work around equipment and machinery, and operate foot controls. You Have: • High School degree or equivalent. • 3+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience. • Knowledge of the standard methods and practices of the sheet metal trade. • Read blueprints. • Must be able to read a tape measure and do basic math. • Must have good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to make precise bends and cuts in metal. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
