Flo-Rite Mechanical is flourishing and we're in search of an experienced Commercial Sheet Metal Installer to join our family and play an integral role in the growth of the HVAC Construction department. You will be responsible for installing, repairing, and /or replacing commercial sheet metal ductwork per the unique needs of our customers. We are looking for a self-motivated team player excited to work in a positive and encouraging atmosphere with excellent customer service and communication skills. Read below to see if you'd be a good fit: Key Responsibilities: • Install various types and sizes of HVAC sheet metal duct (Square, Round, Flex, Rectangle, Louvers, Fire-Dampers and Grills). • Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, and/or equipment manuals to safely and accurately construct specified structure. • Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength. • Measures, cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions. • Connects pieces or secures seams by welding, riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws. • Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment after sheet metal installation. • Operate scissor/power lifts and duct jacks. • Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs. Maintains clean and orderly workspace. Skills Insights: • HVAC sheet metal duct installation. • Blueprint and equipment manual consultation. • Material selection and metal shaping. • Machinery and hand/power tool operation. Required Experience and Qualifications: • 5+ plus years of commercial experience in HVAC Sheet Metal/Duct Installations. • Knowledge and understanding of HVAC low and high voltage systems. • Ability to safely use HVAC/R gauges and electrical test equipment. • Knowledge of sheet metal best practices and ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision. • Ability to safely use machinery and hand/power tools involved in sheet metal work. • Must be able to pass a “fit for duty” exam (lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, etc.) • Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights, and capable of lifting items up to 100lbs. • Current EPA Certification. • Familiar with Microsoft Products and computer skills. • Maintain a professional appearance. • Willing to work overtime as needed. • Pass national criminal background check. • Current driver’s license and clean driving record. High School Diploma or GED. Additional qualifications that would be beneficial in this role include: • HVAC Excellence, NATE, NCI, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30. OSHA scissor lift certifications are preferred.
