Class A CDL Driver / Material Handler

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various driving environments and be proficient in operating different types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Responsibilities • Operate and drive various types of trucks including tractor-trailers, & flatbeds • Load and unload freight as required, ensuring proper handling of goods. • Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition. • Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while complying with regulations. • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other necessary documentation. • Communicate with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays encountered on the road. • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while driving and handling freight. Skills • Experience with tractor trailers and flatbed trucks. • Strong truck driving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency. • Previous delivery driver experience preferred. • Familiarity with forklift operations is advantageous. • Excellent route driving skills with an understanding of freight logistics. • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and dispatch. Metal Technician

Metal Technician CARSTAR East Hartford East Hartford, CT, 06108 JOB SUMMARY The metal Technician is responsible for making repairs to all assigned vehicles, restoring them to pre-accident condition in accordance with industry standards and factory specifications. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES • Repair damaged vehicles using technical information sheets following APS (Advanced Process Solutions) in accordance with repair orders (RO). • Makes “repair or replace” decisions concerning safety, costs and cycle time. • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment and trim to gain access to vehicle and fenders. • Perform structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement and some mechanical work. • Perform different types of sheet metal welding and metal finishing. • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools. • Work and communicate with Production Manager and Estimators on the vehicle repair status (including supplements). • Meets or exceeds CARSTAR’s requirements for tech efficiency, cycle time (to keep vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery) and return rate. • Utilize all required safety equipment, follows proper repair procedures and adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal. • Keeps personal work area organized and clean, returns tools and maintains parts/materials carts in an organized manner. • Follow CARSTAR’s quality control processes and inspections. • Perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner that does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury. • Attend daily release meetings. • Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS • 2-5 years of auto body collision repair experience required. • High School diploma/GED required, collision tech graduate preferred. • I-CAR certification or ASE training required. • I-CAR welding and ASE Structural (B4) certification strongly preferred. • Experience using frame and measuring equipment. • History of working independently and in a team environment. • Highly organized, able to handle multiple concurrent assignments. • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record. • Must provide own tools (in working order) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Essential physical requirements include: • Ability to stoop, bend and kneel, squat, kneel and pulling • Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to complete or inspect repairs. • Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs) • Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment. • Standing, sitting and walking • Performing repetitive motions WORK ENVIRONMENT Exposure to: • Paint, fumes and particles • Dirt / Dust • Chemicals / Toxins • Varying heat / cold • Intermittent noise • All duties, responsibilities and experience are subject to change by location

Sheet Metal Machinist and Straighter, 1st and 2nd Shift

Job Summary We are looking for a Sheet Metal Mechanic with the ability to plan, layout and fabricate sheet metal parts and products. The successful candidate will also be required to perform work quality checks. LOCATION: Columbia, CT ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: • Inspect product using basic measuring equipment. • Work independently interpreting blueprints and engineering specifications. • Trim, file, grind, deburr and smooth surfaces. • Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace pattern of products or parts using templates. • Set up an operate fabrication machines such as shears, presses and forming rolls to cut, bend, block and form or straighten material. • Inspect the work area and machines that were used during the day prior to leaving at the end of each shift. • Follow all company safety protocol Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualified candidate must demonstrate training ability and be able to support internal customer needs. The individual must be able to accurately read blueprints and be able to lift a maximum of 25 pounds. They must be committed to quality, safety and communication and be a team player.
