Plumbing Technician

The Plumbing Technician – Is responsible for troubleshooting, installations, repairs and maintenance of plumbing equipment and mechanisms, while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring all work done is in compliance with established codes, laws and regulations. Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems at residential job sites • Troubleshoot, adapt and resolve/repair issues that would keep equipment from running properly. • Identify tools and special equipment needed • Knowledge of how to maintain, repair, diagnose and correctly install or replacement plumbing systems • Develop and present a complete set of recommendations and related pricing • Communicate benefits of recommendations and risks involved • Perform required documentation for each installation • Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer or systems and fixtures are met. • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded. • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business. • Answer any questions the client may have about their systems • Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business. • Ensure proper billing, invoicing and daily documentation of activities • Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck • Maintain inventory of parts, fixtures, tools and other shop equipment • Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings and retreats • Train and mentor newer or less experienced staff to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations • Adhere to the highest standards of safety and quality • Ensure all work done meets environmental protection requirements • Operate a variety of specialized equipment including, but not limited to, power roto-rooter, snakes, trenchers and other power and hand tools commonly used in the trade • Knowledge in bathroom and small additions Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) • A minimum of three years related residential service plumbing experience • Remodel/construction work a plus - but not required. • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record • Knowledge of local plumbing codes and ability to make on-the-job applications. • Proven track record in soldering, pipe threading, fixture installation, gas leak testing and repair. • Ability to work as a team and independently Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Company truck • Paid time off Schedule: • On call • Overtime • Year round work Supplemental Pay: • Bonus opportunities • Overtime pay • Tips Application Question(s): • Are you available to take night and weekend call on a rotating schedule?
