Under supervision of the Supervisor of Building Trades , the Plumber I in the Facilities Management Division (FMD), DMV/CHP, performs preventative, new/renovation maintenance and repair of work of plumbing systems, provides journey-level work concerns related to water, gas, sewage, fire control and troubleshooting of plumbing systems to ensure compliance in accordance with principals and guidelines of the Department of General Services (DGS). The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge on how to repair, install, and maintain plumbing systems and services on a larger, more complex scale. A Plumbing Service Technician will apply their technical skills and knowledge in performing diagnostic, service, and installation of plumbing in residential and light commercial environments and ensure that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes.
