Master Plumber/ Maintenance

Master Plumber/ Maintenance Advance Services in Hastings has a Direct Hire opportunity for a Direct Hire Master Plumber position. Job Summary: The Master Plumber is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing systems within the public school system’s buildings and facilities. This role ensures compliance with all state and local plumbing codes, maintains the integrity of plumbing infrastructure, and supports the health and safety of students and staff. Wage: $22.50- $27.50 an hour based on education and experience Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Inspect, install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, water heaters, and backflow prevention devices. • Respond to emergency plumbing issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner. • Conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of plumbing systems. • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. • Collaborate with other maintenance and custodial staff to complete plumbing-related projects. • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. • Order and maintain inventory of plumbing materials and supplies. • Train and supervise maintenance personnel and apprentices on plumbing-related tasks. • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, state, and local safety regulations. • Assist in budget planning by providing cost estimates for repairs and new installations. • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities. Qualifications:Education and Experience: • High school diploma or GED required. • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience. • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a licensed plumber, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred. Licenses and Certifications: • Valid Master Plumber license issued by the state or local regulatory authority. • Backflow prevention certification preferred. • Valid driver’s license required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Extensive knowledge of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and best practices. • Proficiency in using plumbing tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team setting. • Effective communication skills to interact with staff, administrators, and vendors. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently. • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform manual labor.
