Responsibilities for plumber • To provide plumbing services to ensure the operation of all the water systems on site • Testing and repairing backflows • Perform either maintenance, repair, replacement or installation and piping of water gases, drainage and venting systems, and various plumbing fixtures (e.g., sinks, toilets, water heaters) • Repairs, replaces, installs plumbing equipment and fixtures • Provide a full range of plumbing services • Installation and repair of pipes, fittings, fixtures and drainage systems • Installs new equipment in accordance to codes • Inspects joints, valves, pumps, boilers, heaters, sinks, commodes, tanks, and other plumbing system components to locate malfunctions • Locates and repairs defective plumbing fixtures and pipe • Must be able to do basic plumbing repair and maintenance functions • All hand tools for the trade • Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas and drainage systems • Installs sinks, showers, toilets, water heaters and related plumbing fixtures • Responsible for maintaining a productive work area, as well, as a clean and stocked vehicle, and continually looks for ways to improve productivity, better work flow, identify improved work methods • Removes and replaces damaged, defective, or obsolete piping and plumbing fixtures • Uses tools (e.g., saws, pipe cutters) to measure, cut, bend, and thread lengths of pipe needed for installation and repair work • Operates specialized equipment and tools including pipe threaders, rodders, pipe cutting machines, and cutting torches • Must good knowledge of installation / repairing of PVC water, drainage piping, copper piping / tubing, pipe work • Must have your own hand tools of the trade • Conduct repairs and maintenance to all installed domestic water, waste water plumbing systems • Maintain installed plumbing systems and repair defective components such as valves, piping, faucets, shower assemblies and sanitary hardware • Perform new plumbing installations and renovations to homes and buildings and underground water distribution systems Qualifications for plumber • Maintenance and Operations • Other - Any and all other duties and tasks assigned • Plumber may perform other related duties as assigned • Maintains various mechanical supply and drains lines • Performs pipe-fitting duties • Respond to customer questions or requests demonstrating courteous and professional customer service • Maintain a clean, orderly and secure work environment • Keep the building in a clean and orderly condition by examining the building on a regular basis for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness • Some overtime and calls after hours
