Plumber for Residential Construction

Allied Mechanical and Electrical is currently hiring a Plumbing Helper for our residential construction division. Work will be in the Altoona, PA area with occasional travel to surrounding areas within one hour distance from Altoona, PA. Headquarters for Allied Mechanical are located in State College, Pennsylvania. In the roles of Plumber for Residential Construction, you will be essential in installing, plumbing systems within residential new construction homes. Reporting to the Residential Construction Managers, you will utilize your core skills in hand and power tools, along with your expertise in construction plumbing. Your ability to read blueprints and understand schematics will be crucial in ensuring compliance with building codes. Additionally, your mechanical knowledge and experience will enhance the efficiency and quality of plumbing installations, contributing significantly to the success of our residential projects. Qualifications • Proficient in using hand and power tools for plumbing tasks • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and construction practices • Experience with construction plumbing techniques • Ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively • Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills for precise measurements • Familiarity with HVAC systems, Electrical and general handyman tasks • Experience working on residential construction sites Responsibilities • Install plumbing systems in residential construction projects. • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine plumbing layouts. • Utilize hand and power tools for pipe installation and repairs. • Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations. • Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate plumbing work with other trades. • Perform troubleshooting tasks as needed. Hours are currently Monday through Thursday 7 AM to 5:30 PM. Overtime is available and during busy periods on Fridays. Must have your own hand tools and reliable transportation to and from work sites.
