Must be willing to travel throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AS A PIPEFITTER. Pipe Fitter

Job Title: Pipe Fitter Reports to: Area Manger or Director of Technical Operation FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime) Position Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for working on HVAC systems. You will be installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing closed loop piping systems. The job typically requires working in industrial, commercial, and sometimes residential environments. The job also entails regularly working alongside the HVAC Mechanical Service Team. Duties and Responsibilities: • Pipe Installation and Assembly: • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required specifications. • Install pipes, valves, fittings, and other components according to blueprints and layout specifications. • Secure pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures using brackets, clamps, and tools. • Maintenance and Repair: • Inspect, test, and maintain piping systems to ensure proper functioning. • Detect leaks or obstructions and repair or replace faulty components. • Perform regular system check-ups to ensure pipes are free from rust, blockages, or damages. • Reading Blueprints and Schematics: • Interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to layout pipe systems. • Ensure adherence to local building and safety codes, as well as project specifications. • Welding and Soldering: • Use welding, brazing, soldering, or cementing methods to join pipes and components. • Work with different materials, including steel, copper, plastic, and alloy piping. • Safety Compliance: • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). • Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace. • Tools and Equipment: • Operate specialized tools such as pipe threaders, cutters, bending machines, and welding equipment. • Maintain and care for tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Education/Knowledge/Experience/Critical Skills Required • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints. • Strong knowledge of different piping systems and materials (steel, copper, PVC, etc.). • Familiarity with various hand and power tools. • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently or as part of a team • High school diploma or equivalent. • Certification or apprenticeship in pipe fitting or a related field is typically required. • Experience with welding and soldering is often preferred. • Operational knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software preferred. • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and short correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. • Must pass pre-hire requirements including background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening. • Must possess valid drivers’ license. Physical Demand Requirements • In order to properly perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear and use hands/fingers in order to grasp/handle/feel. Pipefitter

The Mechanical Pipe Fitter conducts all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs. The Mechanical Pipe Fitter will directly report to Mechanical Piping Supervisor(s) & Mechanical Piping Coordinator(s). The Mechanical Pipe Fitter will be expected to be proficient and perform the following duties: • Responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems that carry various substances like steam, water, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings. • Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and industrial standards • Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related equipment • Use various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threading machines, and welding tools to join pipes by means of welding, brazing, soldering, cementing, gluing, or threading them • Fabricate pipe spools and components as per project requirements using various welding and fitting techniques • Diagnose and repair faults in piping systems, including leaks, blockages, or pressure issues. • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan the layout of piping systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards • Test piping systems for leaks using methods like hydrostatic testing or air pressure tests • Ensure all work meets quality standards and industry codes • Lead and instruct mechanical piping helpers, mechanics, and fitters under your supervision • Work closely with other trades like welders, plumbers, and electricians to coordinate work on projects • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coordinators, and project managers regarding project status, material needs, and any issues encountered • Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely • Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following OSHA guidelines Qualifications • 3-5+ years of experience in pipefitting, preferably in an industrial environment • Certification in welding or pipefitting – not required but advantageous • OSHA 10 or 30 safety certification or willingness to obtain one • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications • Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations • Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of different piping systems and materials Physical Requirements • Must be able to lift 50-lbs and safely climb ladders without physical overexertion • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy pipes and work in various positions • Must be capable of working in environments that might be noisy, dusty, or have temperature extremes Work Conditions • Work is primarily on-site at industrial plants, factories, or construction sites • Work Week – The normal work week will be Monday through Thursday 7:00am–5:30pm • Position may involve working in shifts, including nights and weekends, depending on project timelines and maintenance schedules • Follow all rules, protocols and procedures as set forth by the Company, which may be in the form of handbooks, directives, memorandums, meetings, or other means as deemed appropriate by the Company. • Always maintain professionalism.
