Must be willing to travel throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AS A PIPEFITTER. Pipefitter - Journeyman

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The incumbent performs skilled pipefitting tasks in the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC pipeline systems. This person may occasionally oversee and direct the work of a small group of laborers. Base hourly rate of $22/hr - $34/hr KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Measures and marks pipes for cutting, threading, and welding. • Lays out full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related information from blueprints. • Plans pipe system layout, installation, and repair according to specifications. • Selects pipe and related materials for projects, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic systems. • Inspects and tests installed systems and pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other approved methods. • Assembles pipe sections, tubings, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and/or welding equipment. • Fills pipes with water/air and observes pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks. • Reviews blueprints and specifications to determine work details and procedures. • Locates and marks the position of pipe installations, connections, penetrations, and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels. • Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipe using hand power tools or machines. • Cuts openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools. • Hangs steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place. • Installs underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems. • Uses specialized techniques, equipment, or materials to perform computer assisted welding of small pipes, and work with special piping used in microchip fabrication. • Inspects equipment, structures, and materials to identify the cause of errors, safety hazards, or other issues, and solutions or escalates them appropriately. • Facilitates knowledge transfer and teaches trade skills to less experienced tradespeople. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Work tasks for this position are regularly performed in indoor/outdoor environments, intermittently in confined spaces, and routinely require the use of tools such as pipe dies, power threading and cutting machines, hammers, wrenches, torches, and channel locks. • Depending on the work location, the incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, noise, poor ventilation/lighting, and other hazards or conditions typically associated with a construction job site. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is frequently required to see, sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend, squat, reach above and below shoulders, balance, climb (stairs, scaffolding, ladders), and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity. • S/he may occasionally be required to kneel, push, or pull, and rarely required to crawl. • This is considered a medium work position, which means possible exertion of up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to thirty (30) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. TRAVEL: • This position may require up to 90% travel. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Graduation from high school, vocational school, or training equivalent. • 5+ years of related experience in pipefitting work on a variety of installations. • Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions under limited supervision. • Must be construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction. • Demonstrated knowledge of the methods, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment employed in the joining, jointing, cutting, bending, threading of all types of HVAC piping. • General knowledge of the hazards of the trade and necessary precautionary measures. • Willingness and ability to work nights and overtime on an as-needed basis. • Capacity to leverage leadership skills to facilitate learning, teamwork, and collaborative relationships. • Must have a valid driver's license. • Must have a driving record compliant with the Company's policies and MVR requirements, and consent to ongoing driving record monitoring by the Company. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Rigging and Signaling Certification. • Forklift Certification. • Aerial and Scissor Lift Certification. • Completed OSHA 30-Hour Training. • Current First Aid/CPR Certification. Pipe Fitters/Welders

Pipe Welder Responsibilities: • Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible • Must have experience fitting and welding pressurized for piping. • Must have knowledge of Mig welding operations with basic knowledge of Stick welding operations. • Must have the ability to short arc, spray arc, and use a torch proficiently • The ability to set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment such as electric arc welders, and gas welders • The ability to read and independently work from plans, sketches, diagrams, and blue prints • Knowledge of occupational; hazards and safety precautions applicable to the welding trade • Support Manufacturing Engineering on improvement projects • Support the efforts of Lean and Continuous Improvement teams • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules. • Create and maintain a safe and sanitary working environment. • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude. • Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirement Qualifications: • Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields • Familiarity with welding tools and procedures • Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics • Ability to handle physical workload Pipe Fitter Knowledge and Skills: • Written and verbal skills to communicate and applicable math skills. • Ability to pass a qualifying test and maintain journeyman status in piping services. • Knowledge and expertise of the piping trade and familiarity with all applicable piping standards, materials, and applications. • Knowledge of pipe fitting techniques, methods, procedures, and ability to read drawings, including isometric drawings and blueprints, plan and elevation drawings and sketches. • Experience with piping materials such as carbon steel, PVC, lined piping, stainless, etc. • Ability to use a variety of tools and techniques such as pipe threading, flange flaring, weld fit up, heat exchanger tube plugging, teflon pipe fabrication, etc. • Proficiency in the use of maintenance crafts equipment and tools and material handling equipment such as, but not limited to mark-lift, hand tools, power tools, test equipment, etc. as required. • General knowledge of chemicals and their general properties. • Knowledge and application of safety, environmental, maintenance, and quality guidelines, standards, codes, and procedures. • Ability to effectively utilize personal and mainframe computers, as applicable. • Ability to work heights and in enclosed spaces. • Valid drivers license required to drive a plant transport vehicle (i.e., automobile/van, pickup truck, flatbed). Principal Accountabilities: • Responsible for the layout, fabrication, assembly, installation of piping, columns, valves, and equipment. • Install pipe and related materials per specifications, engineering standards, etc. • Identify the sequence of installation activities. • Prepare, assemble, and install a variety of metal and non-metal pipes. • Join pipe by threaded, welded, flanged, glued or bell and spigot soldered joints. • Test piping system for leaks. • Diagnose and correct maintenance related process difficulties using instruments, experience, and knowledge. • Assist welders with fit up. • Properly support piping with structural steel, hangers, brackets, etc. • Follow and comply with Multi Skill Maintenance Agreements and Quality Maintenance Material Guidelines. • Update equipment records by submitting work order comments, stores modification, etc. • Perform specified equipment inspection, compare findings with acceptance criteria and document findings. • Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance. • Coordinate and/or perform housekeeping and safety monitoring and ensure adequate follow-up, as required. • Follow all Standard Operating and Business Procedures, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Guidelines, Plant Standards and Codes including the development of Procedures in job classification. • Safely assist with other maintenance craftwork when needed. • Participate in area and business improvement activities, quality, mechanical integrity, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance activities. • Train and guide other employees in the assigned areas and receive training as necessary. • Team- participate in teams and group based activities focused on continuous improvements, consistent with Management and Contractual needs and objectives. • Appraisals- participate and input, on a voluntary basis, into Manager and Leader/Supervisor annual performance evaluations through anonymous processes consistent with contractual requirements. • Properly fill, label, and position all hazardous and non-hazardous waste in identified storage/pickup areas. • Enter, retrieve, document, communicate, and analyze data (i.e., process, inventory, maintenance, quality, safety, environmental, etc.), using computer application programs (i.e., Profs, TSW). New application programs are planned and would be part of this job. • Understand, initiate, review, approve, and apply change control. • Perform other tasks as necessary within skills and training to support the manufacturing and sale of products.
