Journeyman - Pipefitter

Essential Job Functions • Meet all requirements of 4 year Apprentice. • Knowledge of all tools, equipment and skills necessary for the complete installation of projects common to the HVAC/piping industry. • Possession of the tools as required by the company. • Direct the activities of field crew member(s) in accordance with job schedules and priorities as coordinated with project manager/customer/general contractor and field foreman as applicable. • Submit daily job progress reports to supervisors as required. • Responsible for ordering stock or fabricated materials as far in advance as possible either personally or through site foreman to ensure completion of assigned tasks. • Responsible for physical jobsite organization and housekeeping to ensure a safe professional work area. • Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of company equipment as well as monitoring the use and timely return of rented equipment. • Responsible for the accurate accounting of labor hours to the accounting department, material sheets and change orders, etc. • Responsible for instruction and on the job training of apprentices/crew members which includes emphasis on safety. • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining necessary licensing/certification for performing work in areas where such is required. • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of local/national codes and industry standards. Ensure that all necessary inspections are made through all phases of work. • Support the total quality effort.
