Some of the key benefits are: • Up to 21 days of holiday pay and paid time off in your first year • Company sponsored family outings, holiday parties, and Tech Day celebrations • 401k retirement plan with a more than 50% company match • $2,500-$3,500 of company provided mechanical and piping tooling • Paid professional and personal development assistance • Referral incentive program • Job Share incentive program • Tuition reimbursement program Primary Responsibilities • Supervision, code oversight, planning, and lay out for the installation of equipment and piping systems for Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC systems. • Successfully mastered all of the job duties and responsibilities of the State of Colorado Journeyman Plumber/ Pipefitter. • Gained all the necessary field hours, experience, knowledge, and skills to take and pass the State of Colorado Journeyman’s Plumbing License Test. • Supervision and company oversight of State of Colorado Statues and Plumbing License requirements for Journeyman, and Apprentice plumbers and pipefitters. • Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret mechanical, piping, electrical, and control drawings, blueprints, retrofit layouts, schematics, piping, mechanical code, specifications, sequence of operation instructions, product installation, engineering, and owner’s manuals for commercial and residential mechanical and piping equipment, ductwork, and distribution piping installations. • Per code requirement, can successfully demonstrate performing the math calculations necessary to properly size mechanical and plumbing piping. • Demonstrates an excellent working knowledge of mechanical piping theory, hot water, chilled water, and drain piping systems. • Can demonstrate the ability to lead, supervise, and support a crew of 4-8 mechanical pipefitters. • Supervise installation, repair, or replacement of hot water, chilled water, drain distribution systems, radiant in-floor, snow melt, baseboard heating, humidification, and piping circuits including mechanical equipment, plumbing equipment, piping types, piping materials, fitting types, valve types, and testing equipment for residential and commercial installations. • Verify compliance and functionality of installations. Correcting piping, connections, and terminations on equipment as required.. • Troubleshoot and test equipment, parts, piping, and fittings for leaks, restrictions, and proper flow. • Successfully completes manufacturers or company’s start-up or commissioning procedures and paperwork completely and accurately. • Ability to perform service and warranty callbacks. • Performs preventative maintenance and testing of plumbing and mechanical systems including piping distribution systems. • Demonstrates an excellent working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing code requirements, and company quality control protocols. • Demonstrates the ability to coordinate with other trades on jobsites, work alone, or as part of a team. • Maintains workflow schedule to ensure productivity objectives are met. • Attends all required and pre-scheduled training classes for personal and professional advancement. • Listen to, assist, learn from, and pay attention to instructions from supervisors, coordinators, and more experienced personnel. • Oversees that appropriate employee safety training is completed, certifications are maintained, and compliance is enforced. • Other duties, responsibilities, tasking, and special projects as assigned by management or ownership. • Trains and coaches less skilled pipefitters. Job Requirements • Maintains a State of Colorado Journeyman’s Plumbing/Pipefitting License. • High school diploma or GED certificate is required. • 6 to 8 Years of Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC piping and equipment experience. • Good working knowledge of plumbing and mechanical code required. • Good working knowledge of blueprints, equipment schedules, submittals, material takeoffs, and project buyouts. • Valid Colorado driver’s license with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI’s in previous 5 years. • No current or pending Workman Compensation Claims. • Must successfully complete background check, drug screen, physical conditions of employment job screen, and team interview as condition of employment. • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and work proficiency with computers and hand-held devices such as smart phones, tablets, etc. • Neat appearance accompanied with good listening and communication skills to communicate clearly with customers, fellow technicians, support staff, and supervisory personnel. • Desire and ability to learn how to use and interpret Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC, diagnostic, and service equipment. • Certification or proven skills in brazing techniques utilizing an oxygen/acetylene torch. Steel pipe welding certification a plus. • Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions on rooftops, outside of buildings, and residences, crawlspaces, attics, and other types of confined spaces. • Perform physical work that requires the regular use of fingers, hands, walking, stooping, and kneeling. Regularly lift or move up to 10lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. • Work from either a step ladder, extension ladder, or man lift with no fear of heights. • Good work ethic and the desire to advance professionally and personally. • Demonstrate good customer service skills, communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and common-sense judgement. • Ability to maintain a positive, willing, and trainable attitude. • Ability to get along with and work well with people on all levels. • Work flexible hours and some overtime on occasion depending on site access requirements. • Demonstrate a willingness to continue education through available company and industry training.
