Pipefitter - Process Piping

Key Responsibilities: • Fabricate, install, and maintain process piping systems including stainless steel, copper, and plastic piping. • Perform orbital welding with precision in compliance with industry standards and project specifications. • Conduct butt fusion of plastic piping systems according to approved procedures. • Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, blueprints, and specifications. • Ensure all piping installations are clean, precise, and compliant with cGMP requirements. • Conduct system pressure testing and validation activities. • Maintain safe working conditions following all OSHA, site-specific, and cGMP safety protocols. • Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and QA/QC staff to ensure seamless project execution. • Maintain detailed records of work performed, including weld logs and as-built drawings. Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a journeyman-level pipefitter. • Demonstrated experience in: • Orbital welding of stainless steel tubing. • Butt fusion of HDPE and other plastic piping materials. • Working in regulated cleanroom or cGMP environments. • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and process schematics. • Commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and precision. • OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred). • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen. Preferred Attributes: • Certification in orbital welding (preferred but not required). • Previous experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, food, or chemical manufacturing facilities. • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team setting. • Professional communication skills and a safety-first mindset. Job Summary Plan, lay-out and perform all types of pipe fitting and fabrication work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman. Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work. 2. Must have a minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level III) and six plus years (level Sr.) experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of the pipefitter trade. 3. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills. Note: Job Description is subject to change at any time and may include other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements 1. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.) 2. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis 3. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis 4. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors 5. Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas. 6. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures 7. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis 8. Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. 9. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis 10. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
