Job Summary Performs the assembly, installation and repair of components, subsystems and systems for the piping trade or remodel of commercial buildings and industrial facilities. Essential Duties • Prepares material take-offs, layout appropriate systems and make isometric and schematic sketches from blueprints, specifications, submittals and job orders. • Provides guidance to craft workers (piping trade). Schedules and coordinates activities of assigned craft workers and operation of equipment and machinery. • Inspects work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications. • Eliminates construction and job site hazards and perform required safety observations. • Coordinates placement and storage of materials, tools and supplies to support the construction plan. Assists in maintaining assigned tool inventory. • Verifies that delivered materials and equipment match approved submittals. • As required, works with tools to meet construction schedules or other demands. • Identifies conflicts or need for clarification in contract documents. • Performs other duties as required. Minimum Requirements • High School Diploma or GED required. • 5-7 years of experience as a Pipefitter/welder. • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines. • Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems. • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints. The technician always works under supervision and is not expected to handle technical tasks independently. Pay range: $18-23 per hour Pipefitter II - This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience and a solid understanding of piping and wet side HVAC applications. The Pipefitter II is responsible for repairing and replacing piping systems, pipe supports, and equipment for heating and cooling in commercial and industrial settings. While knowledgeable, this technician still works under the supervision of a Pipefitter III or higher. Pay range: $23-29 per hour Pipefitter III - Equivalent to a journeyman role, this position requires at least 5 years of experience and mastery in piping and wet side HVAC applications. The Pipefitter III works independently, handling the repair and replacement of piping systems, pipe supports, and equipment for heating and cooling in commercial and industrial settings.
