Mechanic/Millwright/Pipefitter - Maintenance Technician

Description: Responsible for performing maintenance activities in the facility, specifically as it relates to equipment, machinery and preventive maintenance of process systems while meeting safety, production, quality, and environmental requirements. Job Responsibilities • Remove, disassemble, repair, and install rotating equipment such as gear boxes, pumps, agitators, centrifuges, conveyors, screens, etc. to ensure safe and efficient operation. • Remove, repair, fabricate, and install stationary equipment such as tanks, chutes, ducting, stairways, and rails. • Maintain piping systems, including pipe layout, unplugging systems, replacing valves, packing, headers, repairing leaks, and reading isometric drawings. • Structural welding and pipe welding, including use of acetylene torch. • Moderate to high physical exertion – up to 85% of time spent walking, standing, climbing, bending or stooping. Work is done in elevated as well as confined spaces. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Requirements: Education & Experience • 1-3 years of experience as a journeyman or completion of approved apprenticeship program relative to skill. • Reading, writing and math skills comparable to a high school education. • Required to pass and maintain an established welder certification to meet ASME-31.3, Section 9 specifications within 180 days of start. Monday-Friday day shift, plus overtime and callouts as required to support production. The salary is $31.23 - $37.76/hour DOE plus excellent benefits commencing on date of hire, including healthcare, PTO leave, vacation, 401(k) and 10 paid holidays/year.

Pipefitter

Fabricates and installs piping. Cuts threads, and hammers pipe to specifications. Measures and marks pipes for cutting and threading. Attaches pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures using brackets, clamps, and other methods. Reads blue prints to determine parts requirements of the job. Plans pipe system layout and installation. Tests piping to ensure against leaks. Performs structural welding in order to attach and secure piping systems to walls, floors, fixtures. Performs other duties as required. Cleans work site when job completed at end of day.
