About the position Hinkle Contracting, LLC, a CRH company, is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Ground Operations Technician. This position is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and safety of our Quarry Plants. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing all ground operations, which include greasing equipment and conducting routine maintenance. The role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA and MSHA regulations, ensuring that all operations are conducted in a safe working environment. The Ground Operations Technician will work closely with the Quarry Foreman and other team members to ensure that all tasks are completed effectively and efficiently. In this role, you will be expected to operate heavy equipment such as bobcats, skid steers, man lifts, water trucks, and haul trucks. It is essential to maintain constant communication with co-workers, especially when backing up equipment, using hand signals or other movements to ensure safety. The technician will also be responsible for performing daily pre-and-post inspections of equipment, documenting findings in compliance with company policies. Additionally, you will assist in training less-experienced employees, helping them develop their skills in equipment operation, servicing, and repair. The position requires a willingness to work in a team environment, with a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, and the general public. The technician must be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, and be available for overtime, nights, and weekends as necessary. Responsibilities • Perform minor servicing and maintenance on plant equipment as needed. , • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as bobcat, skid steer, man lift, water truck, and haul truck. , • Report any problems to your manager. , • Maintain constant eye contact with co-workers when backing up equipment, using hand signals or other movements for communication. , • Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. , • Follow directions of Foreman regarding daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite. , • Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies. , • Assist in training less-experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing, and repair of equipment. , • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. , • Pass a pre-employment 'Fit for Work' physical. , • Provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document. , • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. , • Willing to travel and work away from home when required. , • Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. , • Report to work at the designated start time. , • Be able to work overtime when required. , • Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. , • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. , • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. , • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. , • Be at least age 18 years of age due to the nature of the working environment. , • Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. , • Previous related experience in the construction field and/or training.
