About the position As an Oldcastle Maintenance and Repair Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment at our new flagship plant in Cedartown, GA. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment. You will be tasked with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, adjusting and repairing equipment, and providing maintenance support for various facilities and structures on company property. The successful candidate must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment, which may include both covered and uncovered areas of the manufacturing facility. This is an exciting opportunity to join the core team at a high-profile location and represent our company to executive-level customers. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing equipment, electrical components, and special purpose machines as assigned. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary. Operating a variety of hand and power tools will be essential for tasks such as greasing, welding, cutting, and changing parts. Routine preventive maintenance will be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring that machines continue to run smoothly. You will also dismantle equipment to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools as needed. The ability to think independently while functioning effectively in a team environment is crucial, as you will be contributing toward team goals and collaborating with others. Responsibilities • Install, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair equipment, electrical components and special purpose machines as assigned. , • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary. , • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts and complete tasks as assigned. , • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. , • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly. , • Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. , • Ability to think independently while successfully functioning in a team environment, with a proven track record of contributing toward team goals. Requirements • At least 3 years of maintenance/electrician experience with at least two years working in a manufacturing environment. , • Prior experience with PLCs and ability to read schematics. , • Experience working with diesel engines. , • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. , • Working knowledge of basic safety programs, particularly lock-out/tag-out procedures, as well as principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanics.
