CNC Machinist I

Description: Summary/Objective CNC machinists works with computer numeric controlled (CNC ) heavy machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials. Computer numeric controlled equipment is precision machinery that cuts, grinds, or drills into the material. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Participate in mandatory safety or PPE training and notify their supervisor when new PPE is necessary. • Maintain a clean, neat and groomed personal appearance to reflect a positive image of themselves and the company. • Ability to use and interpret measurements of calipers and micrometers. • Ability to work with blueprints. • Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance on equipment as necessary • Understands a worker’s right to stop work when they feel their own or other’s personal safety is jeopardized. • Willingness to accept other duties or assignments as deemed necessary by business needs. Position Type/Work Schedule • This is a full-time position, and the days of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends and/or holidays may be scheduled. Employee may be scheduled to work overtime and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises. Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED is preferred. • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in set-up and operation of CNC Lathe primarily for the threading of API 8rd tubulars. Measure and document dimensional data. • Utilizing semi-automatic equipment or crane, load and correctly orientate parts, operate control in machining, deburring, and inspection of parts, and ensure first articles inspection are performed. • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
