This position requires a background in mechanical machining and an understanding of the use of machining equipment, as well as an aptitude for producing products within tight tolerances. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and quality in their daily workplace activities. Responsibilities: • Make detailed measurements and calculations. • Develop and design prototypes and manufacturing drawings. • Make a variety of mechanical parts and tools. • Read drawings and blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing techniques required for making parts. • Follow drawings and blueprints to make mechanical parts and tools. • Draw sketches, diagrams, or blueprints to assist in making mechanical parts or tools. • Be able to identify parts by sight or touch. • Work on complicated machines. • Set up production line to make mechanical parts or tools. We are a “job” shop and jobs/projects vary day to day to meet the needs of our customers. To be considered for this position, you must be able to: • Set up, indicate, and machine parts with a conventional lathe per sample and/or drawing. • Set up, indicate, and machine parts with a conventional mill per sample and/or drawing. • Accurately and precisely measure, read, and interpret inside and outside micrometers for cutting or shaping a product. • Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production. • Use either a 3-jaw or 4-jaw chuck. • Work in an on-call rotation to ensure service to our customers 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Qualifications and Education Requirements • High School Diploma or GED • Basic knowledge of shop operations. • Basic computer knowledge to ensure accurate tracking of time, efforts, and information for shop operations. Preferred Skills/Experience • 3 years of machining experience is preferred. • Basic knowledge of job shop operations.
