CNC Grinding Machinist / Grind precision knife parts / 4-day Workweek

As a Chris Reeve Knives CNC Grinding Machinist, you will have a diverse and enriching experience from the get-go. Your job will entail producing precision ground parts for a well-established knife manufacturing company. You will work primarily in surface and hollow grinding production, though additional help in the Grinding Department will be required. The job is a full-time position, based in Boise, and designed for those who are interested in a different experience in machining. As a CNC Grinder Operator , you will: • Operate machines to produce knife parts • Use common measuring tools to measure and inspect parts (i.e., Micrometer, calipers, indicators, and optical comparator) • Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensional and finish tolerances on parts • Properly fill out required paperwork (Work orders, time cards, etc.) • Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work • Perform non-Operator tasks when necessary(cleaning, maintenance) • Maintain grinding wheels & honing tools • Manage material inventory and work orders in your area • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations • Adhere to standard work schedule and promptly communicate when time off is required • Perform daily and weekly maintenance and cleaning on equipment (i.e., filling lubricating oil, topping of coolant, general cleaning, and wiping down machine) • Measure and analyze production parts frequently to ensure quality We’d love to hear from you if you have: • Surface grinding experience or machining experience • Exceptional communication skills and confidence in receiving feedback • Self-motivation with the ambition to learn and grow from others • NC-Code / G-Code Knowledge • Initiative to complete tasks independently, from start to finish • A keen eye for detail • Organizational and time management skills • Familiarity with machine tools for drilling, milling, and grinding • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Basic math skills and ability to understand geometry and decimal places. Summary: Vanmark Equipment is a custom stainless steel equipment manufacturing company serving the food industry. Candidates will set-up, edit and operate machining equipment to ensure product is manufactured to customer requirements. 4 years of practical machining experience is preferred. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret prints, and the ability to correctly measure and check the quality of the parts in process and before the next operation. Ability to design, develop and document needed fixtures and tools for production, ability to read and understand the process flow identified on the job traveler.
