They perform a range of duties including routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, as well as climbing towers for inspections and repairs. How You’ll Make An Impact • Routine Maintenance: Performing scheduled maintenance checks, inspections, and lubrication on wind turbine components. • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with wind turbines. • Safety: Ensuring all work activities are performed safely, adhering to safety protocols and procedures, and providing safety training. • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and performance data. • Tower Climbing: Climbing wind turbine towers for inspections and repairs, requiring specialized climbing skills and equipment. • Component Replacement: Replacing or repairing worn-out or damaged wind turbine components. What You Bring • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with an associate's degree in a related field being a plus. • Experience: Previous experience in wind turbine maintenance or a related field is preferred but not required. • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and repair complex technical issues. • Safety Knowledge: An understanding of safety protocols and LOTO procedures, Physical Fitness: Ability to climb wind turbine towers and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions. Must adhere to body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as mandated by safety laws. Job Description As a Field Service Technician – 100%, you will be responsible for performing and training on major component replacements and repair services as needed across the Invenergy fleet. Locations Included: • Must reside in one of the following states: • Wisconsin • Illinois • South Dakota • Iowa • Minnesota Responsibilities • Represent Invenergy and the Field Service Group to internal and external parties. • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults across multiple equipment platforms. • Train site personnel in operations activities including safety, preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, and operations support systems. • Lead teams to perform major component replacements and repairs on various equipment platforms and manufacturers. • Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems. • Understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions of multiple equipment platforms. • Perform equipment and site inspections and compile reports. • Complete daily and monthly reporting requirements. • Write and revise procedures for component replacements. • Ensure all activities are performed safely and in compliance with Invenergy policies. • Position requires travel in 4-week intervals away from home, with weekly returns. Required Skills • At least 1 year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education. • High School diploma or equivalent. • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, climb ladders, and lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs.). • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. • Ability to work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet). • Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.), excluding gear. • Eligible to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Skills • Two or more years of technical experience or education related to renewable energy systems. • Strong interest in electrical and mechanical systems. • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. • Experience with multiple platforms is highly preferred. • Proficient in troubleshooting software systems. • Committed to safety and limited supervision. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
