As a Vestas technician, you’ll put your electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical experience to work, ensuring your safety, and the safety of your team. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TECHNICIAN In this advanced- level position, you’ll use your proficiency of skills, equipment knowledge, and primarily self-direction to perform work on assigned wind turbines with minimal to no supervision. You’ll modify procedures and plans, take appropriate action from general direction and will successfully develop / implement well thought out action plans. As a Tech III, you’ll provide technical direction and mentorship to lower level technicians. During a typical day, you may be working 250 feet above the ground, or working in small spaces to perform maintenance and repairs. You’ll be outside, and sometimes the weather isn’t great. You’ll be climbing, carrying tools and equipment and moving parts to complete your work. Teamwork is a priority here, and our reputation for professionalism, safety and attention to detail are important to our customers. Site Wind Technician (Oklahoma)

WTR Search - Renewables has partnered with an industry-leading energy company to locate a SiteWind Turbine Technician. The position requires relocation to the Reydon, OK area. This is NOT a travel position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience working on the Siemens Gamesa Wind Turbine platform. Responsibilities • Perform assembly, commissioning, testing, repair, and maintenance on wind turbine generators and related equipment at the wind farm • Conduct and review safety analyses of potential electrical and mechanical hazards in the wind turbines, switch room, and the O&M building • Support Root Cause Analyses to assist in determining equipment failure and the reasons for failures when they occur • Complete required and accurate documentation associated with corrective and preventive maintenance of wind turbines and associated equipment; maintain records of documentation • Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and/or retrofit low to medium voltage electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic components/equipment associated with wind turbines and the wind farm • Perform preventative maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner on wind turbines and associated equipment located on the wind farm • Utilize appropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control or dissipation of energy sources to ensure work is performed in a safe manner • Conduct safety analysis and review of hazards and energy sources prior to and while performing any work assignment on the wind farm • Properly maintain tools and equipment used to perform assigned maintenance assignments • Maintain required training certifications and qualifications to enable personnel to safely perform work-related tasks in a quality matter • Other responsibilities as assigned Requirements • Requires a high school diploma or GED, wind school graduate or college degree a plus • One year of hands-on wind experience with Siemens Gamesa Wind Turbines • Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as required • Previous experience working with hand tools and power tools • Able to work independently in a fast-paced team environment • Ability to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights of 100 meters • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and in adverse and extreme weather conditions, in dust, pollen, weeds, grasses, and in confined spaces • Ability to be certified and work with both medium and high-voltage equipment • Maintain required training certifications • Have a valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record • Ability to safely travel to the wind farm within 45 minutes in the event of an emergency • Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport See Other Wind Jobs

Wind Turbine Blade Repair Apprentice

GEV Wind Power is seeking enthusiastic entry-level Technicians to join our 2-year Apprenticeship Program. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about renewable energy to kickstart their careers in the wind industry, specifically focusing on composite fiberglass blade repair. During the apprenticeship program, you will learn and perform the following tasks: • Work under the direction and oversight of an experienced journeyman composite blade repair technician • Travel 100% to operating windfarms and windfarms under construction across North America (subject to an 8 week on/1 week off rotation) • Tasks taught and performed will include: • Drive a 3/4 ton pickup with a trailer from warehouse to jobsites • Climb wind turbines multiple times per day up to 400 • Identify and perform proper waste and chemical storage and disposal • Assist with wind farm traffic control • Review and read work instructions and repair specifications • Test air quality, wind speed and temperature • Clean and perform good housekeeping worksite • Rig/derig and suspend/store platforms and scaffolding, including managing, attending and securing tag lines • Operate and tend electric chain hoist to lift heavy bags to height up to 250 - 400 feet • Load and unload materials and tooling • Assist journeyman blade repair technician in performance of repairs • Grind damaged fiberglass, sand and clean damaged areas • Prepare, mix and apply resins, epoxies and paint to repaired fiberglass • Attend and perform daily safety checks including job safety hazard, vehicle inspections, PPE safety checks and inspection of tools & equipment Qualifications: • Prefer recent graduate of a trade or technical school focused on wind energy, composites, or a related field; or military background • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and equipment. • IT literate (email, internet, iPad) • Willing to spend extensive time traveling in the field • Flexibility for changes of scope • Ability to work well as a team and take guidance • Valid, current driver's license • Must be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicle • Must have a satisfactory criminal record, MVR and pre-employment drug screen • Must be able to meet the strenuous physical requirements of climbing ladders 2 or more times per day up to 400 feet, bend, crawl, stoop and lift up to 75 pounds (will be required to complete a fit-for-duty physical exam) • Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions. • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship Equal Opportunity Employer - Minorities/Females/Veterans/Disabled VA Approved Apprenticeship Program – GI Bill Benefits Available to Eligible Veterans GEV Wind Power is a Non-union Company
