The Skilled Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support construction and other projects. The role involves using tools and equipment to perform tasks such as excavation, demolition, carpentry, and other specialized tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities: • Perform tasks such as excavation, demolition, carpentry, and other specialized tasks as needed • Use hand and power tools to perform tasks safely and efficiently • Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and other technical documents to understand project requirements • Operate equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and forklifts as needed • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all safety regulations and protocols • Communicate with supervisors and other team members to ensure tasks are completed on time and to specifications • Follow established procedures and protocols to ensure consistent quality and safety standards • Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed • Complete other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • 2+ years of experience in construction or related field • Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and other technical documents • Knowledge of hand and power tools and their proper use • Ability to operate equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and forklifts as needed • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team • Ability to follow established procedures and protocols to ensure consistent quality and safety standards • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as needed • Positive and proactive attitude. Job Description Role Summary/Purpose The Senior Wind Technician position requires local travel within the hub. The Senior Wind Technician is a critical and active role to maintain optimal function and output at the wind site by working daily on turbine operations, safety, quality control and warranty repair(s). The Senior Wind Technician partners and communicates with the Site Lead and Manager to execute on contract requirements and timelines and ensures alignment with GE excellence! Essential Responsibilities As the Senior Wind Technician you will: • Work with site/hub leadership to execute contractual obligations per customer requirements and activities set forth with on a daily basis, which include any portion of the electrical and mechanical equipment used in the GE wind turbine generator; • Apply extensive understanding of variable pitch & speed turbines and converter parts; • Read, understand and explain schematics, drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations. • Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety processes and regulations and all applicable compliance requirements; • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch & variable speed turbines; • Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager with minimal supervision, observing all safety requirements; • Effectively perform diagnostic analysis and generate plan for timely resolution and; • Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures and • Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary. • Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager, and mentor peers; Qualifications/Requirements • High School Diploma or GED, and • Ability to pass Technical Knowledge Assessment, and • 4+ years of wind trouble-shooting experience, and 1+ year EHS, SQC, Lead role, or • 6+ years of wind trouble-shooting experience, or • 3+ years of wind trouble-shooting experience AND Bachelor's Degree in relevant field. • Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment • Basic computer skills Requirements • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license • Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time • Handle repetitive weight - 50 lbs. and climb towers up to 300 feet daily • Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300lbs including required gear • Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities • Effectively prioritize work according to contract obligations • Ability and willingness to take initiative, and work without direct supervision, and • Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules, and on-call per site needs. • Occasional overnights may be required per hub needs.
