NJEDA is supporting the launch of the Wind Institute for Innovation and Training (Wind Institute). The Wind Institute will be a new independent authority charged with advancing offshore wind workforce development, education, research, and innovation efforts that support the growth of New Jersey's offshore wind industry and the state's position as a regional offshore wind hub. The Intern will work directly with the leadership of the Wind Institute to support and coordinate key initiatives that further the Wind Institute’s mission. The Intern will work remotely for 10-25 hours a week during the Fall 2022 semester, with the opportunity to extend to the Spring 2023 semester. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Interns support the Wind Institute team’s activities, projects, and strategies at the discretion of relevant Staff, to include but not limited to: • Support efforts to launch and administer a suite of programs focused on advancing economic development and research within the offshore wind industry in New Jersey; • Perform research and synthesize findings on existing trainings and innovations in offshore wind that contribute to the development of new initiatives for New Jersey; • Develop a strong working knowledge of the offshore wind industry and the opportunities and challenges of the industry in New Jersey; • Assist in the creation of tools, systems, and resources to help stand-up a new government entity; • Contribute to periodic activity analysis for inclusion in memorandums regarding the status of the Wind Institute’s initiatives; • Plan, schedule, and implement logistics for meetings and stakeholder events; • Promote teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff, and external customers; • Attend weekly team meetings. • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned. Required Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements • Must be a full-time graduate student enrolled in a post-undergraduate program (or planning to enter a post-undergraduate program).
